Only downside I can see is that they can be a little shorter than normal (maybe 1/1.5mm)... What are the best clear bases people have found for 40k? Also, does anyone do a 105x70mm oval clear base? However, most clear acrylic bases are typically 1.5 to 3mm thick because otherwise the edges detract from the model and the model looks like it's floating. Plenty of companies in the UK make and sell them, here's a few to look at: Sally 4th Counter Attack Bases Fenris Games Sarissa Precision Warmill Plastic Shapes Warbases Personally, I prefer traditional bases with black rims - they frame the models for me, and I don't mind if they don't match the terrain I'm playing on.
