New texture paints - more watery?

Hi, very basic question - are the texture paints in the bigger pots more watery or thinner than in the old small pots?

I did some bases with an small pot of Astrogranite that I bought a while back but hadn't opened, and I was happy with the result. I bought two of the big pots today and there seems to be a lot more liquid in the mixture? As a result it dries a bit more blobby and a bit less craggy.

Had my small pot just dried out a bit or have they actually changed the consistency of the texture paint?

Unfortunately I don't have a definitive answer for you other than the new texture paints have a different formula with microbeads, but I can offer you my personal experiences as someone who also heavily used the old texture paints and recently tried the new one. For comparison, the texture I use is Armageddon Dust, which should be identical to Astrogranite, except dark yellow instead of grey.

Original Armageddon Dust (no microbeads): Looks like a dry paste, not wet, creates a nice stucco texture, dries out in the pot if you have the older first generation new pots that don't snap shut.

New Armageddon Dust (microbeads): Looks very moist and wet in the pot, almost like a fruit jam spread, seems thinner and slightly wetter but with the same coverage, texture is about the same after drying, seems inexplicably different when wet (probably because I can spread it on now instead of having to scrape it around).

New Armageddon Dunes (microbeads): Same as above, except the texture sucks, it looks like pumice paste and makes the base look like it has a bunch of holes in it instead of having flat paint with tiny dots sticking up. I plan on fixing this by either putting Armageddon Dust on top of it when dry, or simply piling tons of the stuff on and sculpting dunes with it, because that's supposedly what this version is for. The Astrogranite version of this is called Astrogranite Debris.

To fix your blobby problem, I recommend trying to spread it thinner when applying, and apply two coats, or even just scraping on a thin coat on top of your current bases.
