Huh, that's a change. Is this ERRHoJ a Dusk Raider or something else completely?

Iirc, the Dusk Raiders were called the Emperor's Red Right Hand of Justice?

Sure, as fits their form ripped from Paradise Lost, but this one also sports a later Death Guard icon of the black sunburst behind a skull. Just wondering where he fits.

He fits just right in the miniature cabinet.

Lexicanum

The Dusk Raiders' armour was originally unpainted, but with their right arm and both shoulders coloured crimson. This was done with the intent to show their enemies that they were the Emperor's red right hand, relentless and unstoppable. Many enemies simply threw down their weapons at nightfall so they didn't have to fight the terrifying Dusk Raiders.

Hungry Nostraman Lizard: Thank you. :smile.: It's an endless struggle!
Bjorn Firewalker: Cheers!
Majkhel: Thank you!

It's Orktober now, so I'll see if I can come up with something fitting for this month.

The model has been sitting in the cabinet for a while now but I've finally given some pigment on the Legion Landraider bringing it to completion. The model is an old salvage I got in a trade at some point, and it turned out alright in the end. The front lights must be the wrong way, but it was too late to change them when I noticed.

It's been mostly used as a party bus for my Command squads or CQC Terminator squads. I guess Per Aspera would translate as 'Through Hardship' (atleast in my mind  ) so it fits the Legion nicely.

Thanks lads.

Long time no post. The time I've had for minis has mostly been taken by Wasteland Warfare. We've concluded another Isstvan V campaign with Mekol where the traitor Death Guard clashed against the Raven Guard. Beyond that my interest in miniatures has been a bit diminished, but I haven't forgotten, so here's to a new year of projects.

I've been slowly working on a couple of veteran squads in MkII plate and the first lot is entering the enamel wash stage. My plan is to have two squads of 10 veterans with two missile launchers for some Creeping Death shenanigans, we'll see.

Last year was a veritable year of the Saturnine Terminator armour and we saw a bunch of 3D files and conversions pop up in succession. I jumped on the bandwagon for the chance to work on some basic Legion Terminators. I bought the 'Talon Meka' files from HeresyLab on CGTrader and fiddled with them a bit as I didn't like how the arms were placed but otherwise was a solid revision of the armour. I eventually modelled the shoulderpads from scratch to complete the look. You can download the shoulderpads here.

Lastly, here's a humble Legion Medusa crewman with an interesting suit of armour, harking back to the Artificer armours of yore.

That's it for now, I hope to be more productive again sooner or later.
C&C always welcome, cheers.

batu: Thanks! I've used Milliput standard on the crewman as it's easy to file and carve when cured.
Morngrym: Thanks, I'm glad you like them! Might be a bit unconventional, but I see no problem with Legions sporting any mark of armour of that period.
Gorgoff: Cheers!

Thought I'd drop some  quick and dirty works in progress shots of what I've been doing lately so as not to have the blog appear derelict.

Here's a Veteran Sergeant for the Death Guard. I'm quite pleased with the 'everything but the kitchen sink' look of this kitted out little dude.

I figured the Word Bearers need an apothecary (you know, because I already have 4 elite units... ) and wanted to make him fit the Veteran squad from before so I fiddled around and came up with this.

Now, I've been sketching out some Emperor's Children just because they're cool, I wanna keep my hands busy and completing backlogs is for losers. :biggrin.: Here's a few tactical marine candidates and another Apothecary, I just love them. You can also see additive technologies coming to aid in providing the perfect bits.

Went to town with these classic shoulderpads to make them fit the MkII look.

Bonus MkV tactical marine I have no plans for yet.

Okay, some quick and dirty shots from the work desk. Got my Word Bearers apothecary all painted up, now to varnish it and add some technicality to it. I also made some specialist packs for the Death Guard veterans I am very close to finishing.

Kythnos: Thanks! Nothing I will do to the pose any more sadly as it's all set. My original idea was for the servo arm to give him a bit of a creepy insectoid feel, the appendage protectively folding close to the body.
Hungry Nostraman Lizard: Thanks!

As per my usual style, here's something completely different.
I've had the original model lying around in the mini cabinet and tried to sell it on several occasions unsuccessfully, so I thought why not and worked on it a bit. Ironically it turned out to be the most fun model I've done in a while. So without further ado;
