Between the three of you, you have hit the nail on the head

Nope, you could go for any heads and they'd fit pretty much! If you're looking for suggestions, maybe some form of plume helmet might be cool, give them a bit of pomp?

They do seem to fit any head style. Now if I could find a gas masked pith helmet, make a grim dark Praetorian force. Would be really cool

But I think the following two are closer to what I first imagined

Not sure exactly what feel you're going for, but since drookians are celtic based maybe some space wolf-esque barbarian heads could work. I know spellcrow and maxmini do some good ones

Drookian Fen Guards always seem to have bare heads with respirators covering their nose/mouth. Seeing as the horses have respirators, it would seem rash for the riders not to.

So originally I was planning on using

I originally wanted the respirator but I think the bald head just wont fit the model. Then on the other hand, the long hair savage look heads dont have the respirator. Maybe I should sculpt hair onto the bald heads

Macharius Omega Progress. Mainly as I cannot paint until my Rough riders are finished and sent off to be cast along with other things

Inked parts are Zimmerit effect, wanted to see how well it had come out. First time I had done it

After looking at that first picture (and from playing an awful lot of World of Tanks), all I can think of is 'That is a truckload of KV-2's'.

The conversions and reworks look pretty damn amazing though. Definitely props to your hard work there.

looks amazing. how did you do the zimmerit armour?

Thats easy, I use the Tamiya Zimmerit Applicator Tool with the product No More Nails. (Not sure where you are, have that)

I basically did this but with 0.7 NOT 0.5

0.5 is just too small on 40k scale models

So I have been pretty busy as of late, but today I had an opportunity to try a little experiment. Gun Barrel replacement

The model being worked on is the Forgeworld Vulcan, and its Heavy Stubbers have been replaced with RB Model 20mm Oerlikon L/70, grooved barrel version. This experiment came about due to neccessity, as the casting of said barrels were warped beyond repair. Overall though I think this is something I will continue to do I wonder what other real world gun barrels could be used in the Imperial Guard.

Over the last few years I have seen the transfer of scale modelling techniques over to the tabletop miniatures and it makes me think what else will we start doing

They look good - but would it be possible to glue on the barrel shroud (or whatever its called - the bit right before the muzzel)? The plain, smooth end to the barrel just doesn't look 40K. smile.png

I have no idea what bit you are referring too sorry

You talking about the piece of banding that is about .5cm away from the muzzle tip?
