Even though the quality of the new camera is great, I must admit that I prefer black background, it makes the models pop out more in my opinion! However it is certainly good that you got it, now I'll be able to get amazed with more precision by the quality of your painting :P!

Yeah, I prefer the black too. I always have. I think I'll likely stick with the black background for most of my pictures and do a White background pic whenever I finish the model alongside my usual black ones.

Not a bad plan. Largely I find it depends on the model, some paint jobs lose them selves on the wrong background but just look ace when you get it the right way round. For a long time I found my self not realy liking Garfy's from Tail of painters Stormcast but when he put them on a black background they stopped washing out and realy popped.
Each model needs the right choice and the canoness definitely stands out better on the black though I would say the angle of the model in the white is closer to the 'Golden Angel' and having her face the camera a bit more would make for the perfect shot.

She's looking great buy the way and the sword is fantastic. My only concern is that the brightness of the blade draws the eye to much and could do with a balance point. If she had a plasma gun then matching coils would work but I'm not sure the melta weapon has anything. If it was me I'd have brightened up the flames a touch more with more yellow and maybe the Bionic eye lens could be blue to help pull focus back to the face. I'm talking very minor nit picks and I wouldn't touch the sword further.

I hear ya on all the points! :D

I am still getting used to the camera, so I am being pretty reserved about angles and stuff like that. I was going to make the melta gun thing she has have a few bright blue parts, but I ran out of time really. I may go back to her, or when I paint some more stuff for my sisters try and work some more spot colours in. Still, she stands out enough as a leader, so job done there I guess.

I am super excited about taking sharper pics with my camera. Looking forward to future projects. I can't wait to get Guilleman done so I can do Cypher! :D:D:D:D

In a departure from painting only blue marines, I have decided to paint up this amazing model!

I have only really finished the purple robes, everything else is work in progress, but thought I would share!

I'm hoping so at some point!

I basically built those to get them ready for gaming and easier to store away. I have a stock pile of armies just piled up that needs to be built and put into carry cases so I can better store them! :D

A quick update on Kyrinov. I don't intend to spend much time on this guy, but since the face is the focal point of any mini, I try and spend a little more time on it.
I have managed to blend the stubble and beard into the skin, and fixed the stark contrast between the shading and the highlighting. I may do a small pattern on his white robes, but I think there is a lot going on already in that regard with the model. Just have to see!

I second the desire for plastic Sisters, as well as one for units other armies have, but which the Sisters lack, forcing the latter to leech onto another like a stereotypical "welfare mother"- dogfight-capable flyers, transport flyers, Fast Attack units with high Toughness (Bikers, Rough Riders, etc.), Vindicators or other powerful direct-fire weapons...

Games Workshop should give us an army that can stand on its own, and that we can AFFORD on our own instead of bankrupting ourselves and acting like a stereotypical You Know What.

I feel like I should try to offer some constructive criticism rarther than just telling you again how great your models and style are but I've got nothing.

You've breathed some real life into what are now becoming quite dated models and as ever I can't wait to see more.

Fingers crossed for plastics on behalf of all sisters players.

Thanks JJD. I think the free hand on his robey bits (cossak?) could be a bit better, and sadly the skulls on the inquisition symbols have poor level of detail. This is the model itself, not much I could do about it. But I suppose I could try and freehand some detail on them.

Pretty happy with his face, it's the only part I spend a decent amount of time on, and I am happy with how it came out.

I actually finished him this afternoon, but the light is crap so pics will have to wait for tomorrow.

I would honestly love some new Sisters stuff. I think it would be great if Belisarious Cawl has got his grubby mits on their armoury and maybe done some genetic wizardry on them to make them more in line with the idea of female space marines. Not all of them, but some.

There’s loads more you could do with a mini like this, the robes are begging for more freehand but this is essentially a gaming piece and I didn’t want to go over the top.

He looks really good for such an old model, you've done a fantastic job with him. The only part that seems a bit lacking to me is the head of the mace, maybe painting the inner trim and the spikes in gold would look better?

In the spare time I have had recently I have been working on test paint schemes for my #Newyearnewarmy Sisters of Battle. The scheme has to be fairly straight forward in order to replicate it a lot. Pretty happy with how this one has turned out.

So, after three years and the update, how satisfied are you with the 'new' sisters
