BotL - Monthly fluff challenge

Do we have much info on the early Xth? Also, how much info should be divulged on their fighting against Thunder Warriors? Cos the War Hounds are mentioned fighting them on one world.

Yeah I like the idea of just a footnote about fighting the Thunder Warriors.

I really haven't put much thought into the pre primarch Xth other than that they were basically the text book legion. Their formation and operation were straight out of the principa belicosa or whatever the Imperial military handbook is.

Halcyon Wardens perhaps? Could also include Malis' faction.

However, I'm gonna plump for the Wardens of Light, and suggest some of us take a run at the Apostles of War (their introduction could be used to get Legion rules out early as with DA in Retribution).

While I appreciate the vote, I think the Halcyon Wardens should be last. The Second/Third Son novella alone means we have far more fluff than anyone else at this point.

Wardens of Light - 1

Besides Legion fluff in the book, perhaps we should also add outlines for potential campaigns a la Paramar and Calth. Also the "key battles" feature in Retribution could be handy for "major battles not explored here".

So for example: Battle of Hakon, 26 M31: the Predators engage and repulse a Steel Legion force over eighteen days of fighting. This secures the southern reaches of the Imperium against the Insurrectionists' advance. The victory is costly, however, with the Ouranti Draks severely reduced.

It's an option. Truth be told, my first piece of fluff that I do per month isn't meant for any rulebooks. It's something to add to a Legion's background that adds that could offer additional development down the line.

Done a thing. Also this:

Triakonta Terminators

The Triakonta were created in the image of Niklaas’ Obsailan bodyguard, tasked with felling the greatest of the monsters which might threaten their master. As such they were armed with huge polearms crafted by Niklaas himself, and Tactical Dreadnought Armour forged in the peerless Corinthian pattern. Superlative warriors all, they were selected for their skill at close quarters, courage and ability to endure.

Often they came from the escalade cadres, having proven themselves time and again weathering the fury of desperate enemies. Others were champions noted for their victories over especially monstrous opponents. Deployed in tandem with the Maveshalak and with the Primarch leading them, it was said that no defender could hold in the face of such skilled and unrelenting warriors. However, such was the extent of their specialisation that only Chief Mykaal of Leucetios organised his bodyguard in the same manner, the rest preferring more versatile retainers.

"...master of the Tenth[ ]Legion turned his..." It's the only error I see in that piece. Well, that and you're odd way of writing the year stamp, but that's not a true error.

Alright, I've theoretically finished my piece. One, Demus, how does the title look? I'm so conflicted over it. Two, Kel, I made a haphazard guess with the Predators in the final paragraph. Does I hit the mark or over-shoot the target?

Title feels like it's lacking, but I don't know what just yet.

Changed it, how is it now?

Also, we still only have one vote for the Wardens of Light.

And should I try inviting the public?
