Thanks to being on short term leave from work and the weekend I managed to complete painting this model in a bit less than four days. I went for a more muted gold than suggested by White Dwarf. There's no hiding the fact that I suck at blending, so the sword turned out the way it turned out. But all in all I'm satisfied with this model and will be happy to field him in a game sometime soon. All those details are well defined in the sculpt and practically paint themselves as long as you use a small brush, it's just very time-consuming (took me almost 4 full days).
