Hi Guys,

After seeing the fantastic art that this forum produces, I got bitten by the hobby bug again (after some years of hiatus).

The only problem was: which legion should I commit myself to?

I was even asking you guys for helping me decide between the World Eaters and the Word Bearers.

But after reading "Betrayer" i finally figured that the fluff (esp. the nails) of the World Eaters does not fit into my view of a coherent army/brotherhood - thank you ADB smile.png

So the decision seemed to be made, Word Bearers it is and so I almost started building.

Almost.

Then I read "Talon of Horus" and things became clear - Black Legion was what I was looking for - thank you ADB smile.png

The Hounds of Abaddon (part of the Black Legion) offer me the chance to still favour Khorne and use some of the best Space Marine Models GW has made so far - Bloodbound.

So I present you, my first model. I need to work on photography, mouldlines and drill those muzzles. The conversion is really subtle. Please have look.

C&C welcome.

Nice pose and conversion. Aside from the light source needed to be moved forward to hit the front of the model a little better, the photography is fine. The bigger issue is that you could do with a bit of adjusting in a photo editing program and cropping the picture to remove all that empty space. Like so.

Thank you very much for the comments, really appreciated.

@lionofiudah

I was thinking about this too. However, thinking of the costs (money is always an issue - as I suck with green stuff) I decided against it. I hope that, due to them being Black Legion, that the boots won´t stick out too much, as for example with red armour.

@Cryptix

mould lines will be forever my nemesis... smile.png I am trying to remove them, but then I see them on the photos and think to myself, how could I not see them while cleaning the model? smile.png

@Kage

Thank you very much for the photography tips, I hope i could incorporate it already in the new photos smile.png

Here we have the newest additions:

He has a rather dull pose, but I hope that he will blend in on the battle field

Nice conversions, Zhul!  Did something similar using the starter box models for a berzerker unit.  Sadly, I've kind of lost the 40k spirit, so I don't know when I'll get around to painting them.  I look forward to seeing yours painted, maybe that'll provide some inspiration to get me moving again.

Thank you all for your feedback!

@Malisteen

I hope i don´t take too long until i will slap paint on them. Usually I tend to first build the complete army before starting to paint...

@Malika666

Yes it is bothering me as well, however I don´t have a solution yet sad.png I just hope that when painted, it won´t be too obvious and will blend in with the rest of the armor

So here we have today's addition, a plasmagun:

C&C most welcome!

Anyone has a good tutorial/idea how to turn those axes into chainaxes?

Hi guys,

I updated some of the models with chainswords/demonaxe so they look a bit more 40Kish.

Please let me know what you think. Photo is a bit crappy though.. sad.png

Very cool thread, I really like your conversions, blood warriors make for great khornate CSM. However the only nitpick I have is that the boots seem a bit odd in 40k. I know they're a pain to remove, but I would seriously consider doing something about it, because everything else seems great and they look somehow off... I specially like the huge chainsaw in the new lord, it looks brutal and ready to cut through loyalists!

If you have a way to mold you could always make a mold of each of your Lord's lower legs and cast them for your other armors. You would only have to cut under the knee armor and replace them with the cast lower legs after trimming. Just a thought.

Love the work so far. Only thing out of place to me is the boots.
