Khârn in Rebirth

While I enjoyed Rebirth, I'm trying to decide if its depiction of Khârn meshes with the rest of what we've seen. I think partly because he's in a situation so unlike anything in Betrayer or his brief appearances in False Gods and Galaxy In Flames.

I also wonder if he knew anything about Lheor retrieving Khayon after the Burning.

Actually not so. Khârn in Rebirth is officially looking for the pendant (something Moon and Horus related) and the second reason he is looking into the heal for the butcher's nails. But as soon as TS captain Menes offers the heal for that, Khorne intrudes - fuels Khârn with rage and he simply beats Menes to death. So no inconsistencies here.

Khârn from the moment of 'After Deshea' was marked for the eightfold Red path and all he did on the road was pre-destined.  In case there was a chance he would go from a planned root - Khorne intrude and drag him back.

AS for the Galaxy in Flames appearance he was in combat and he was fueled by rage - nothing strange here.

What do you mean about Lheor retrieving Khayon after the Burning?

I mean his behaviour in general.

I dislike the idea of everything being predestined, personally.

It seems it is - it is actually strange how 'predestined' person tries to won over fate. At the same time - if person do not struggle Chaos Gods won anyway.

I read 'Talon of Horus' a long time ago, so could you remind me that moment 'Lheor retrieving Khayon after the Burning' please

I seem to recall this being clearly pointed out as a continuity oversight. I think I saw that commented on over on Warseer years ago, because Betrayer conflicted with Rebirth.

From the timeline point of view for sure - as 'Outcast dead' with all HH timeline  ;)

I've commented on it on the B&C a couple of times before too, but I wouldn't know where to find the links. (Short version: It wasn't an oversight, exactly. Or, rather, Betrayer is very specifically timed.)

As in Khârn hasn't yet joined the coming Blood Crusade? Or are your referring to his actions here?

Same question - cause from the timeline Rebirth goes long before the 'Shadow Crusade'
