Is anyone using Sisters in Shadow War: Armageddon?

I'm using Sisters later this week in my first SW:Arma... ah screw it... Necromunda game and wondered if anyone else has and if they had any pointers?

NB. I'm using the Space Marine Scout rules and headcannoning it as stripped down power armour for long recon missions into the hive (someone suggested using the Chaos SM data slate instead for the 3+ and I offered to burn them as heretical)

I don't know anyone who has managed to get a copy of it.
The local store (I say local, it's about an hour away) is going to get three boxes, no reserves.

The original necromunda favoured templates and numbers.

I'm not sure where you're based but in the UK a lot of GW stores have the books already and are running mini taster campaigns.

I'm lucky that the local GW is 5 mins walk from my work and they have the rulebook out and are encouraging everyone to go over it and make their lists for Friday which is our usual Killteam night when they will be running a campaign of Shadow War instead.

From what I can tell templates and close combat are king so I have two flamer sisters and two close combat sisters in there with 3 more running around giving support.

I just hope that when they're announcing the new factions, Sisters will be one of them. And that someone locally will be interested in playing with these rules!

As far as I know, the Sisters are getting ignored as always. I have a copy of the new factions from the GW site, and was duly disappointed. I was hoping somebody here was already working on a homebrew listing for them. We should have a Palantine or a Priest as leader, regular sisters as troopers, with HB or MM Sisters as 'Gunner' or 'Specialist' some sort of female figures as New Recruits (one could use old Escher models, I suppose, but I would use converted Sisters of Sigmar, as I have some spares in my collection), with Seraphim and Repentia as 'Special Operatives'. The rules are definitively the old Necromunda, or close enough for jazz. It would be funny if they are using this as a way to test this as the 'new' Eighth Edition rules.

You'll have to forgive my ignorance but did Sisters have rules in the original Necromunda?

I joined the hobby in 3rd so it was already gone by the time I started playing.

If so the rules may well just transfer straight over

Nah, do it like Ork boys.

You've got the Sister Superior, battle sister, noviate battle sister (parrarellel to yoof) and dominion/retributor.

The noviate would have lower stats, but eventually upgrade into a regular bss.

They're working on more factions beyond those that already have the PDF rules available there.

Praise be to the Emperor, we Sisters' players will get a little love. While the Sisters didn't appear in the original Necromunda, I did manage to score a 'fan-dex' for the 'Blessed Urchins' which someone created for the old Sisters fan site that had a real following back in the early 2000s, who's name currently escapes me. Jeez, I'm feeling old just thinking about it. There were a lot of posters putting up pics of their models and creating rules for units they invented. Well, at least I won't have to repurpose a Scout Marine list, but I wonder what conversion grist will be present to mine for hobby projects.

I'm playing Orks at the moment (Burn the hereti... oh wait!) but Sisters rules for this the excuse I need to give my Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor some proper support! Of course there are also rules on the way for Inquisition in Shadow War... Hopefully I can combine both and use an Inquisitor in place of a Sister Superior (Maybe Canoness?) or use Sisters as power armoured Acolytes.

So, with the release of sisters rules for SWarg, Sisters look really good.

Our basic sister looks really solid, and should be able to handle herself really well.

Our multi melts with a red dot sight and a telescopic sight on a dedicated gunner is going to erase people, especially once she levels up.

And our heroes are well worth the cache to get them...

The repentia is a beast, especially since shooting is generally less deadly in SWarg and she's technically got a better armor save than most, and is going to be running (-1 to hit her) or hiding (can't be targeted) until she's ready to charge...

The seraphim is also an eraser, with either Inferno Pistols (Basically can never miss), Bolt Pistols (Longer rrange, still super accurate) or Inferno Pistols (Less likely to hit, but melts stats, so whatever is hit is fried) AND she moves double what everyone else moves.

Where did you find the sister rules for SWarg ?

I know that we can pre-order the book, but i didn't see any way to see the sisters rules

please, feel free to link them if u find them !

Just go to the GW store website and download the free faction PDF. They simply updated the file with the two new factions at the end. ;)

One thing's for sure, it won't take much effort for an old Sisters player like myself to field a Kill Team. Lol, right now, it's like, "Hmmmm, whom do I field for this mission? So many choices...."

Oh, I assembled my own Sisters Kill Team, which for me was a simple matter of putting numbers on a page, and trolling my collection to pick out models. Yeah, easy peasy, lemon-squeezy for an old Sisters collector like me, though it gave me an excuse to paint up one of my spare Repentia just to have one not part of a unit to put in the box along with the rest of the Kill Team.

I'm thinking of taking a large number of noviates with just bolt pistols and a red dot sight.

I find your rarely shooting someone who's too far away, so +3 To your shot sounds nice, and by game 3, they'll level up...

Hiya everyone! I've started gaming again to do just that @op :) I used to play Necro when I was lil with my brother. We have only just got the rules, so we havent had a game yet. Here is my gang so far. We have had a game of kill team which I won though, against his Death Watch. Yay, girl power! X
