Maru Skara doubt

Big doubt regarding Maru Skara:

 

If I select the Maru Skara as my RoW, and I determine I want my Phoenix Terminators to arrive in turn 2 but they're embarked in a LoW like the Thunderhawk or a Mastodon, does said LoW auto arrive in Turn 2?

Nope. The RoW definitely specifies an 'elite' or 'fast attack' unit with attached independant character(s).

 

I could see it working in regard to dedicated transports, but not even those are mentioned and technically would be a different unit already !

 

So it surely does not apply to a LoW choice.

I'd say dedicated transports definetly count since it's elected along with the elite or fast attack unit, however there is no doubt that transports not selected as a DT definitely do not to be part of the special outflanking force.

Dedicated wouldn't count. The stipulation is clear on what Maru Skara effects; Dedicateds only get affected by USRs in explicit circumstances, they don't get every special rule and buff their parent unit does

But the other way round does work right? 

If I take a Storm Eagle (fast attack), I can put anything inside and still use it in Maru Skara right?

 

I normally use: 

Storm Eagle + Phoenix Guard

Anvillus + Veterans

Lightning

 

The transports are fast so can be taken, and the occupants are even elite. But this doesn't count as 5 selected units now right?

I don't think so, as it says they're treated as entirely separately from any other reserves. The attached ICs get around this by being allowed, but for a storm eagle you'd have one reserve thing in maru skara, with another completely separate reserve unit embarked. You'd have to use 2 choices to get a Fast/Elite unit inside a transport.

 

Actually, double checking the Dedicated Transport rules, you could make say a terminator unit in a dedicated spartan maru skara their way from outflank at the cost of 2 slots
