Just a couple of thoughts for you. Japanese world, chosen to become the homeworld of an Astartes chapter Chapter unifies the entire, war torn world and its clans Each company is assigned to a certain clan Time passes and the bond between company and clan is very strong and symbiotic Warp storms World is separated from the wider galaxy for centuries In this time, the chapter and the mortal forces have to fend off demonic incursions As time progresses, the clans (and their companies) become distrustful of each other Desperation leads to fear, leads to distrust, leads to hate Chapter breaks apart, each company serves their clans daimyo and fight against each other Companies become corrupted, pledging themselves to different aspects of chaos 47 Astartes do stay loyal and hide in the worlds wilderness, starting a guerilla war Warpstorm lifts and the chaosy Samurai ascend to conquer the Imperium or whatsoever Not many did survive the time of betrayal the loyal Astartes are able to flee as well and swear to hunt down their traitorous brothers Another source of inspiration could be the Rising Sons, which were created by the community of 1d4chan https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Rising_Sons Hope that helps. :) Regarding which god, I'd stick with Khorne or Tzeentch.
