Please review THIS thread in the Ordo Administratum forum for a global description.  There will be some copy/pasting from there to here as some members may focus their attention here versus there

Some guidelines for the Raven Guard and it's successors:

  • Topics about the Chapter would be tagged as "Raven Guard Chapter" or "Raven Guard Legion".  Refrain from using "XIX Legion".
  • Topics about Successors are different from topics about the Raven Guard, so use the “Successors” term in tags when appropriate. For example, "Raven Guard Successor" should be used.  Practically speaking, a tag indicating that a Chapter is a Successor should only be used when the relationship with the predecessor really matters.  Otherwise, be specific:  "Raptors Chapter", or "Knights of the Raven Chapter".
  • Topics about individuals should use both first and last name, where known.  For this forum "Corvus Corax" is the tag to use.
  • Spelling matters and is complicated by the differences between the United Kingdom and the United States of America for words like armour/armor, etc. In these cases, follow the spelling that is used in the rulebooks.  This may be challenging for most Frater within the United States ... do your best.
  • Please capitalize words per typical grammar rules.  GW capitalizes words unconventionally, so use their style where appropriate, such as "Terminator" or "Librarian.  Really, this is not much of an issue.
  • Abbreviations and acronyms should never be used as tags.  "GS3" is to be avoided, instead use "Gathering Storm III: Rise of the Primarch"  Although wordy, will help with the tag search engine focus and easily find related threads (assuming the same tag is used for other threads).
  • Exact wording is important – terms and phrases should not be broken down into subordinate elements if those elements aren’t accurate. For example, “Chapter Master” is the default tag for any content relating to any Chapter Master (e.g., Corvin Severax, Marneus Calgar, etc.). Breaking this term down into “Chapter” and “Master” would yield incorrect results. The “Chapter” tag would return any topic about a Space Marine Chapter while the “Master” tag would also return topics about Unforgiven Company Masters, Grey Knights Grand Masters, etc. Similarly, breaking “Space Marine” down into “Space” and “Marine” and other such uses are just as useless. So keep specific terms and phrases complete, only breaking them down if the subordinate elements provide real value in terms of accuracy, but only doing this in addition to the tag for the complete phrase/term.

Ultimately, tagging posts, although not required, does help with organizing and finding related topics.  Tags should be specific.

Go forth and tag on!!
