Shoulder Pads for Cadian Troops

Ive got some third party arms on order to mix it up on my cadian squads but the arms are lacking shoulder pads

 

Ive got a few options

 

1. Cut the arm off a current mini and splice it onto one of the new arms. The con to this is that there will be a join and its a lot of faffing about for 20 arms

2. Make the arms from GS. I could make a press mould to do this. The con to this is getting the consistency and it will need some shaping manually

3. Buy the spare parts from a bits seller eg Valkyrie crew. The con is its expensive and they usually have something on them (skull)

 

 

So are there any aftermarket pads (besides mad robots) in the UK that I can use with these?

I feel the options decrease in hassle, cutting from arms is a lot of effort as you'll need to get the inside right for them to sit right. GS mould could be ok, but again quite a bit of work as you'll need quite a few.

Anvil has a pretty good selection of shoulder pads, the only way to get GW Cadian ones is from the vehicle kits which will likely be a an arduous task to source. I suppose there's always an option 4 - greatly increase your vehicle pool for them

Thats the problem as i want to do about 20

Mad robot have some javlin pads that look the same but i cant stomach the uk postage from the US just for the pads

i was going to say the Light Angular shoulderpads from Anvil would be your best and closest bet... £8.00 plus postage for 24 pairs

I did consider using those mithrilforge but I want them to all look the same. 

The idea is to use the Anvil arms for variation but then have the standard pads on them. Once painted they should then tie in. 

Ive also ordered a load of the back packs and pouches from Anvil so should have enough to create some cool customisations. 

 

Ive taken the plunge and bought a load of GS so will start as soon as it and the arms arrive.

 

After a bit of digging the cheapest I found was a  36" for £9 on www.heresyminiatures.com 

When you add postage it works out about £12.60 so thats about £2.10 per 6"

Im going to try the green stuff mold thats currently curing and if that doesnt work then I'll move onto these

Another alternative is to acquire the loose cadian flak armour shoulder pads from the "Cadian command squad box". Just file off the skulls and stuff on them and you got a nice clean shoulder pad to make a mold from. I were looking for them earlier, before I found the victoria minature ones.
