Faster looking Alternative to the Rhino

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I am currently thinking about a White Scars Army and I do wonder, wether there are common alternative Models  / Conversions for the Rhino, that do look faster than the Metal Bawkses. Maybe something like the Elysian Tauros Venator, just bigger.

Thanks in Advance!

Victoria Minis do an APC wheels set for the IG Taurox, which might fit onto a cut down Rhino? I'm thinking you could cut the sides back to the step nearest the exhausts and mount the wheels into the space (the grey bits) - you'd probably need to build something under the Rhino floor for it all to fit on, but that's just a plasticard box, and obviously remove the roadwheels and tracks.

If you Google "wheeled IFV" you'll get some ideas - the South Africans seem to have done away with tracks on most things, given the terrain and distances they cover

i once saw a vindi dozer blade on a rhino command tank and it looked great. if you find a way to accumulate bigger numbers of vindi dozer blades for your rhinos let me know. i'd be interested to give them to all my metal boxes.

Do you know that Forge World sells single Dozer Blades for Rhinos? Also the bigger, round doors of the Command Rhino Upgrade already make it look better.

Aaand: Yeah that's a good idea!

Ahhh … that's an interesting Idea! Maybe there's also a way to apply the front in a acute angle …

While rearching, I also found this Blog Post on 28mm Vehicles, containing some 40kable Rhinoalikes …

I also just found this cool loking Baby, and it's only 10mm longer, 5mm wider and 5mm smaller than the Rhino, in other words: almost exactly the same size. And it stlll looks like a reasonable large APC, I think some White Scars would  love to ride to war in this …

i think i mean the mine plow that comes with the vindicators. These make rhinos look lowered like the had a sports suspension kit.

Some more finds - I'm enjoying this :D

Not sure what this is based on, looks like a Land Raider top, Pred turret, with scratch sides and hull, and Lego wheels?

Warthog ADV, might be a bit on the small side, but looks cool, so WIN :)

or the Secret Weapon 6x6 - maybe too much Predator rather than Rhino?

If you want the ultimate in speed and design though, look no further than the Rogue Trader Hover Tank :tu:

Ah. Yeah. That looks cool to. I also think, taht something a Snow-Plow would look cool. Like the One the Rhebok on Ramshackle-Games has.

I also noticed the Secret Weapon 6x6, in the Vehicle Comparison mentioned above. Maybe a bit higher, so that it has more the impression of a Transporter.

But the Warthog is really cool and white-scarry. I can already see some Traitors Heads fixed to it, flying in the Wind. smile.png

Ah. Yeah. Maybe not all to fast lookling but at least faster than an rhino. Thanks!

I also noticed that GWs own Goliath-Truck might look great, if the back part could be made a closed Bawks.
