Marneus Calgar had decided to travel back in time to see who truly was the greatest warrior and leader in all of the Imperium of man. Himself, or The Emperor of Mankind? For it was not Horus who had struck the blow that had lain low the Emperor, but Marneus Calgar, in an epic battle that lasted three days and three nights! The Emperor, realising the glory of this man, nay, this legend, had decided that perhaps it was time to retire from personally leading the Imperium if one such as Marneus Calgar existed. But alas, through the machinations of a Chaos plot of Tzeentch, Marneus Calgar was sent back to the 41st millenium, but not without giving the Emperor of Mankind a gift! A copy of the Codex Astartes, penned by the hand of Marneus Calgar, the Emperor's newfound Spiritual Liege himself! The Emperor knew that by implanting it into the mind of Roboute Guilliman, and making him believe that he was the one who had written it and not his newfound Spiritual Liege, Marneus Calgar, then the time paradox of the Codex Astartes having never been written would be fixed. Unbeknownst to the Emperor, but knownst to us, Marneus Calgar had been able to meet with a Magos named Belisarius Cawl, just hours before being sent back to the future, under guise of being Roboute Guilliman, and was able to give him instructions on creating an antidote to an extremely powerful poison and a suit of extremely gaudy warplate that would keep one that was heavily injured and previously in stasis alive, as well as giving him a portion of his genetic code in order to create new Super Space Marines. These new Super Marines would be called, Calgar Astartes. Cawl did not question this. Upon arriving back in the 41st millenium, Marneus Calgar smiled, for he knew that this day he had outplotted the Master of Plots. Guilliman was to be revived on his command, and the deployment of the Calgar Astartes to be unleashed upon the foes of Man and Marneus.
