Does anyone know how strong a space marine is actually supposed to be?
Is he on the level of Worf from Star Trek or Data or is he even stronger?
How about a deamon prince is it like the Balrog from Lord of the Rings?
Thanks guys really want to know.cool.png

I think they're meant to be about 4x as strong*, although Power Armour will push that strength even further.

* 4x as strong as your typical Guardsman, not typical Human.

Stronger than a standard Astartes, weaker than a custode.

I'd guess on the level of a thunder warrior

"Trust in the Emperor at the hour of battle.
Trust to him to intercede, and protect his warriors true as they deal death on alien soil.
Turn their seas to red with the blood of their slain.
Crush their hopes, their dreams
And turn their songs into cries of lamentation."
- "Uphold the honour of the Emperor", vow of the Black Templars

I like to think of the statline as logarithmic, so a S4 marines is 10x stronger than a S3 human.

So while a human can comfortably carry a 20kg box, a marine can carry 200kg with ease.

The game inquisitor placed humans at strength 50 and Astartes as 200, with power armour granting a bonus 10% to strength for an effective value of 220, or a 440% (4.4x) increase, making them able to heft 80-100kg with ease.

In other terms, he can one punch kill humans, flip cars, punch through brick walls, run at 30mph, etc.

Stronger than data or worf.

I think that Vaughn just misunderstood the question and thought that the question was about the Coke ZERO/Numarines:-P

The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse whore. We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.

Edit: sorry, posted in wrong forum originally. On this meant to say I love the logarithmic idea but this causes issues with people who are strength 6 and how strong that makes them!

Astartes are supposed to be stronger than peak human, which is a statistic that keeps getting pushed up by strongmen like Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who recently broke a 1,000 year old strength record. So, it's hard to quantify with real life at the moment.

If we go by the soon-to-be-obsolete rules, space marines are strong enough to damage some armoured vehicles with their bare hands unlike humans, what with strength 4 being able to hurt a vehicle with an armour value of 10 when anyone other than that catachan guy who wields a heavy bolter like a lasgun can't.

(Civilian vehicles, that don't appear in the game, are AV 9 tops.)

In my head cannon an average Space Marine is the epitome of humanity, so:

That gut is the Mountain from Game of Thrones while breaking the world record of dead-lifts with a staggering 450kg. An average human will struggle to lift 80kg.

Yes, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, as I posted above. He's peak human, as far as I can find.
