Into the void; the Knights of Corax

With hidden hands approaching I've decided to put together a record of my RG successors, the Knights of Corax.

 

This will have the dual purpose of firstly being a personal incentive and record of my vows for the hidden hands challenge, and secondly getting me up to my original goal of having a half company plus support elements.

 

I'll fill in some lore in a later post, and start posting some of my stuff. But a quick ask; I'm hoping to become a better painter as my previous armies have always been of a pretty average standard. I'd appreciate feedback on my painting and modelling if you have time to give it- hopefully I'll end up a bit more accomplished by the end of this project, ready for whatever GW tempts me with next.

To start with, here's an example of my current standard of work.  He's from a tactical squad; my kids name some of my painted models after transformers so this guy is currently known as 'Brother Wheeljack'

This will be my Race Bannon entry. . The knights are primarily a space combat specialist chapter and as such I prefer an all helmeted look. The breathing mask is just about acceptable I think.

 

There is a shadow captain Optimus, a librarian called Ironhide and at the moment an ultramarines dreadnought called Jazz: in expecting more to be named as the painting picks up!

I think Blaster is more appropriate as a Librarian. He transforms into a boombox whose cassettes transform into smaller robots- shades of telepathy and the summoning of spirits- and his Decepticon counterpart, Soundwave, is definitely a psyker.

If you get your hands on Forge World's Carcharodons (Space Sharks) models, you should build a Shadow Captain Grimlock. He'll teach the Night Haunter's treacherous sons the true meaning of fear.

Yes the names chosen thus far were the kids, not me. They're only 4 and 5 so making logical choices was a bit unlikely!
