Thoughts...

Anti armor is lascannons and leviathan and all squads have melta bombs plus javelins

Plenty of troops

Reavers are cool and outflank

Loken goes wth apothecary and weapon smith vets

You're six points over, so we'll have to find something to cut.  But I have misgivings about using Loken in a loyalist SoH army that doesn't look configured like an Isstvan III force (largely due to the presence of the Xiphon).  A regular praetor might fit the concet better.

In game terms, the Leviathan might be too easy to avoid since it's on foot - I think it really needs a dreadnought drop pod, and this rite of war helps with reserve rolls so it's a good idea anyway.  Hard to find a source for those points other than the lascannon squad though.  Speaking of which, they're likely to be attacked by deep striking units and artillery.  S9 is great, but would taking another four Javelins have a similar effect?  Lower strength, but more shots and they can outflank.

Well at least right now I like 10 lascannons hitting on 2s with the master of signal. My thought was to place troops nearby to protect but they will be a high priority target for my opponent for sure.

I would like to get a dread pod. Any recs on where points could come from?

I could also drop the lascannon duders all together and maybe try some seekers? I feel like I need something that meshes well with the master of signal so he isn't just hanging out in a forest or building by himself. I could also take a LR proteus to further boost my reserves rolls and mess with my opponents. I'm just not really taking much to take advantage of that right yet.

Made some changes...

Apothecaries go with large tac blobs. Try to take advantage of rage.

Missile heavies are cheaper and have sky fire with flakk

I think until Saturday at 11am UK time, it would be best to hold off on any decisions. Only reason I haven't posted any more suggestions.

I think this will be my standard response for the next few days. :)

Awesome. What do you think they will decide/announce?

I honestly cannot say. I think I'm hoping they go for full 8th Ed rules, as old editions never really hold up. WFB was a major example of this.

But we'll know for sure in 24 hours! :)

Looks like 30k is staying with a version of 7th Edition, with an updated rulebook coming soon. We don't know exactly how long it will be before it comes out, or how long it will be applicable (as they may/will eventually move to 8th Edition).

So, the list...

15-man Tactical Squads are usually big enough. 20 becomes quite unwieldy on the field. Good way to save some points.

The Weaponmaster Veterans could really use an Assault Vehicle - they won't be charging out of a Rhino, so they're gonna sit in the open for a turn. Maybe a Dreadclaw?

I prefer Javelins with Cyclone Missile Launchers - Strength 8 synergy with the multi-melta & HKMs, and they have 2 shots.

Xiphons aren't great, but I do love the model and they are very good at anti-air.

ML Heavy Support Squads are actually surprisingly good, but you have anti-air covered with the Xiphon. For An extra 100 points you could take lascannons. You need something to hit heavy armour.

Finally, Reavers with jump packs are better value at full size. And the Chieftain won't need melta bombs with a power fist.

Hope this helps! :)

Thank you. This does help! You don't think the laser destroyer rapiers and lascannon javs provide enough AT?

I like dropping to 15 in the tac squads. Def frees up some points.

My only other concern is if I put the vets and loken in the dreadclaw they will have to come in turn one and they might be on their own for a while until the javs or reavers can outflank or the tac guys can slog it up to them.
