Wraithwing's Primaris Novamarines - The Glorious 4th.

Recommended Posts

Excellent work on the Primaris CAPT.

I haven't been on the board much lately. Knowing you're posting more of this will certainly encourage me to check back more.

The Captain is looking fantastic.

Thanks all for the kinds comments!

Finally got round to finishing my Novamarines for Kill Team. These will serve double duty as an Intercessor squad for 40K. The very first Novamarine I painted in the first post of this thread will sub in for a 5 man squad in 40K:

The lighting isn't great, so it's making the white look quite yellowed here. It's quite a bright white IRL.

Comms:

Demolitions:

Reivers:

I have a couple of projects vying for my attention atm, namely Aeldari and Primaris Space Wolves, but it's good to get back to the Novamarines again.

I think I'm going to pick another unit and try and get it done fairly soonish. Not sure whether they will be the rest of the Reivers, Aggressors, or something else!

C&C is, as always, welcome.

Cheers,

WW

Very cool painting job. However I am not a big fan of colored power weapons but your novamarines deserve my cheers. So, cheers!

That Comms guy is amazing, what parts did you use for the right arm?

Thanks guys!

The right arm is from the Intercessors kit, but with a hand swap.

I think the arm is supposed to be a comm unit, as it has a microphone grill built into the wrist. I’ve just replaced the hand with one from the Devatstator kit.

Time for a quick update folks.

The Novamarines did me proud, bringing home gold in the Kill Team tournament!

I've also made quite a bit of headway with Guilliman:

And finally, I've spent today building my new Chapter Master, Gideon Mawloch:

Just need to get his base texture done and then primed!

So, after not posting anything in this thread since the end of last year, the release of the new Space Marines Codex and Ultramarines Supplement have got me painting my Novamarines again.

I've not started anything new (well, apart from some Infiltrators), but instead have decided to finish off the minis that have been sat on the shelf unfinished for months. So, here's what I've finished this week:

Primaris Captain:

Redemptor Dreadnought:

med_gallery_5348_3397_635142.jpg

med_gallery_5348_3397_82166.jpg

And finally, while not finished, I've had another crack at Guilliman, this time highlighting the blue, white and gold. Hope to have him finished this weekend:

I really need to invest in a Lightbox, as the lighting I'm using washes out the white highlights.

As previously mentioned, I'm working on an Infiltrator squad, so want to be able to at least have a battalion ready to go.

As always, C&C is appreciated!

Cheers,

WW

Excellent works. It's interesting to see Guilliman another Chapter's colors; he probably repainted his armor to raise Novamarines morale while fighting alongside the latter. Is the Primarch's green blade a reference to "wildfire," an alchemical equivalent to napalm in A Song of Ice and Fire and Game of Thrones?

Thanks! Alas no, the green sword is to match the green spot colour and power sword colour I've got for the rest of my army.

More glorious work for the glorious 4th - this thread is a treat to browse and return. Looking forward to seeing the Infiltrators.

Thanks for the kind comments. Excited for the Infiltrators too!

Again, after spending months on the painting shelf, I’ve finally finished Roboute Guilliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines.

This is Guilliman while on campaign with the Novamarines, his loyal gene-sons. His armour is recoloured in honour of his faithful son, Lucretius Corvo, first chapter master of the Novamarines, who was present when Guilliman fell to Fulgrim:

these are inspirational! where did you get the shoulder pads from?

Thanks for the kind words.

Shoulder pad with the chapter symbol are from the Deathwatch Veterans kit. Squad markings are 3D printed.

Looking forward to adding Assault Intercessors and Blade Guard Veterans to the army now!
