Now that I can share this here I thought I'd present you with a little side project of mine. Turning the anime influence of tau up to eleven, my 'Ronin' counts as farsight

As I'm sure you've noticed he's missing his plasma rifle. I made a handled version for him but can't figure out a good way to add it to the model or even mount a standard one somewhere in there. Advice would be appreciated if anyone has any bright ideas. Here's the rifle:

Thanks for the suggestion but that was my first idea sadly. To get the pose just right I had to mount the shield at a slight angle to how it normally sits on the arm, so it doesn't fit. Plus Even if it did fit, it would interfere with the pose and how he's going for the sheathed blade.

I was thinking of maybe using very small magnets and mounting it on one jet pack wings so it could be removable for display. Not sure if I wanna do that much work though

Put it on the opposite hip of the swords maybe? Or just on the side of the jet pack like you said. That way it looks like it is holstered in favor of the sword.

Other hip is taken up with a bonding knife bit. Needed his tanto to right?

Excellent conversion and I have a large plastic toy Katana I now know what to do with. :)

Hope it works out for you. The bits used to make his blades have been OOP for awhile now so when I found them in my stuff I knew I had to make good use of them.

Settled on going ahead with the wing mount for the gun. Worked out fairy well. Finished cleaning up some details as well.

update: here's a look at the removable backpack mount.
