GrandMagnus Posted June 28, 2017 Share Posted June 28, 2017 (edited) Hello guys, I used to have the codex magnus thread in the forum but it got swamped in the amount of WIP threads that appear in the forum and I haven't added anything to it in aaaaages, so it was decided that a new thread would start. Just my general thread with anything I do, the new 8th edition rekindled my flame for 40k (since I've been doing some empire for AoS over the last months). So I will start off with some plague zombies (eeeeh I mean 'poxwalkers') from dark imperium who will be part of my Bringers of Decay army, so black legion plague marines. For painting the poxwalkers I followed Duncan's instructions on the warhammerTV youtube channel, great way of painting them. The bases on the two finished were an attempt at martian landscape but I've since scrapped the idea (too red, go figure), so I won't be basing any until later so I can get a good feel for how I'm going to do it and hopefully with some feedback from you guys. My objectives for the next two weeks: -Start painting the primaris marines count-as regular marines. -Paint some more plague marines. -Finish my Empire handgunners (Not relevant to this forum but worth noting). So, just wanted to pop back in and say I'm back. Today I will begin with the marines. The chapter will be... (drum rooooooll) http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/images/b/b5/Eagle_Warriors_Livery.jpg EAGLE WARRIORS. Now I have three reasons to why I chose that chapter: 1st, cool colour scheme, I like their half white half blue heraldry; 2nd Ultramarines are my favorite legion and these guys are second founding Ultramarines, so I can add a lot of heraldry from the XIIIth legion; 3rd They are one of those chapters you don't get to see very often. Their badge is a bit simple and boring, but for bigger minis like dreads or tanks I will probably stylise it a bit adding an eagle head to the end or something like that. I'm planing to make 10 tactical marines, using the new primaris models. I hate the primaris fluff but like the minis, so in my own head cannon the primaris where never created, instead a new pattern of power armour was introduced to the space marine chapters and that's how I'm going to roll with it. They are set after Guillimans new crusade, so you will still see some older paterns of helmets, pauldrons and backpacks in the mix. Also planning to add a captain and a contemptor dread in the future. And of course the ancient with the banner. I will probably have some pictures later. All you can do is either upgrade your photobucket account to the $50 a month plan, or move your pics to something other then photobucket like Imgur or here on the B&C and re-link them. I haven't completed my goals for these two weeks and my plane is leaving this afternoon. I'll be back the 17th of August, so more will be done by then. That's why I added the Godwyn pattern bolt guns. I personally feel marines should be close quarter storm troops, so fighting in trenches, bunkers, city streets, sewers, inside ships and orbital stations, places where close quarters are almost inevitable and that's why I like the look of the shorter boltguns. And since I'm using them as standard marines, its a bit better rule wise. Im also quite happy with the arid forge world / wasteland bases I've got, some of the best I've made.
