SW grey theme help/suggestions

Recommended Posts

I have been working for awhile on a paint scheme for my SW's and I think I got an idea of what I wanted.

I plan on using the Primaris models when they come multi-part, with the Pauldrons from the Burning of Prospero with the lip. Wolf Guard will use the 40k pauldron with the lip that has a wolf symbol on it. I will be using the Primaris helmet for everyone except wolf guard again that will use the wolf helmet or something else. I am trying to not use fur and only a few bone bits. I'm going to use the Forgeworld transfers for my pack and company markings.

I wanted to make sure my colors would be okay and work well with each other. I wanted to use the 30k SW theme, but I thought the warhammer TV theme was a bit too bright so slightly adjusted and then changed a few things I thought was missing or would look better.

I also tried the WarhammerTV colour scheme, and also found it too bright :tongue.:

So i did almost as you did. The left being exactly as Duncan did on Warhammer TV, the right the darker version. Simply not doing an overall Dawnstone, and making that the first highlight, with administratum being the 2nd sharp highlight.

The one on the left almost looks like deathguard. To me the right one is pretty blue colored, but it could be camera or monitor issue,  pretty sure this monitor isn't color corrected like my one at home. What colors did you use on the right one?

I use Grieuxs recipe for the bronzeassy bits

Balthasar gold

Reikland flesh shade

layer Blathasar gold

edge highlight Fulgurite copper

Purple in recesses

edge highlight Sycorax bronze

If this is too bronze, then a wash of seraphim sepia, can restore a bit of yellow to it for a brassy look

Check his first post, he lists his paint technique there. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/327134-a-skjalds-tale-of-the-days-of-darkness/?p=4540954
