I'm not playing Iron Warriors for my Chaos Marines, but I'm definitely lifting some of these ideas for my Night Lords!

I have a pretty strict “all DAEMON models are Dark Mechanicus constructs” rule for my Chaos army, but seeing these conversions kinda has me wondering if it isn’t a little too strict...

These are just simply amazing ... they truely look more akin with the iron warriors, i like the normal GW scults, but you have certainly raised the bare massively. As others have said, i will also be taking some idea from these and using them on my WEs ones when i get around to buying some :D

Actually I was only just back there a couple of weeks ago. Last minute thing as I was in the area, so we sat around Bugmans playing Killteam. Hope to get my Iron Warriors up to 2,000 points and bring it over for a scrap.

 

Loving the obliterators. I don't have near the bits potential to pull off those models. Can't wait to see some paint on them, shall live through you on it.

Here the two Obliterators. It been really fun converting & painting both models. There are plans for a third model who will join this squad.

Now working on a unit of Chosen whole be arm with mix of Thunder Hammer, Combi Bolter & Chainaxe. It be 10 models in the unit, but unsure what heavy weapon to go for to be honsty. I'm aim on getting the FW Mechanicus drill transport built soon that will act as this unit transport.

One of the brand new object marker. The once I've been using since 2013 are given into wear & tear. Seem right to make some brand new object which will be getting sorted over the next few days.

Then Chaos Knight Rampager nearly there. Finial getting around to building the models, since buy him in November. I just need to add a bit more green stuff to the base & aim have the model ready soon with a Knight vs Knight game in March.

The Knight style mask is going to be base upon a game I have that Throne of Skulls last year. As always, all troph on my Iron Warriors are base around games I've had in the past. This help add narrative, but also remember those great games & most of all when great moment happen.

Though I'd show the third Obliterator, just waiting on the Blackstone fortress Nurgle model to arrive for the drill part that go onto the servo arm on the (model) right.

Man, your Obliterators are really helping me with figuring out how to modify the ones I have so I don't have as many exact duplicates as I do (I've got 3 boxes of Shadowspear worth of Obliterators).

Here the third Obliterator.

Also recently went back to repaint some part of the Master of Possessed. I wanted to keep with the warp fire look & follow the guide Duncan has over on Warhammer TV.

Brand new Object marker. My current Object marker are starting to give into wear & tear, with some parts missing or damage. So though it was time to add some new once.

The Primaris Marines will be Ultramarines & they will be base (Primaris version) of the squad of Ultramarine shown below, though a nice way.

The Knight nearly ready for painting next week & aim having him ready for a game I have line up for the following week.

Combi Bolter are from the new Chaos Terminator kit & keep a eye on bit site & ebay. They just look far better in my view. I'm aim on majority of the Chosen to be arm with Combi Bolter :D I should have the rest of the squad soon, just current been really busy that the moment.

Spent last week painting up a few new models to take to Throne of Skulls during the weekend just there. Was a great weekend with five great games & catch up with a lot of people I've met &/or game against over the years. Highly recommend Warhammer World events.

On model side

When working out my list, I seem to miss done somthing & it turn out I was not able to take a second Helbrute in the list. I think I was over by 48pts (125 for the Helbrute w/Power Scrouage). This left me with 77pts to spend & quick look check in the codex & I was able to take a Lord with Chainaxe & Combi Bolter with out a large change to the list I wanted to take.

Seen Lord Varik Drago. I enjoy making the orignaly model back in 2017 during the Christmas holidays. I wanted a model to represent my Grand Company standard. But when looking that the model, it sort of felt out of place with the Chaos Space Marines range just been updated nearly a year ago.

So the weekend before, I ended up making a second version of Varik Drago. There nothing wrong with doing this, it happe. Part get release that look cool & would have fitted the idea a bit better. I ended up useing the Axe, Banner & Datasmith Servo arm from the Mk1 version to keep that look for the new updated version

Mk2 version was painted on Wednsday & completed by the end of the day before the finial detail where needed

With the new Chaos Marines kits, there so much more space to add extra gear & trophy. With that in mind, I kept a area free where I aim on adding a Death Korp trophy which I ended up buying the artillery crew while that Warhammer World. This is to mark a great game I had during my gaming club tournament back 2018. It was just Varik Drago by himself with two wound against 8 Basilisk when the game ended. He'd just slay three Charecter & two squads while holding a object & his ground for turn 2 up to turn 6. One of the greatess games to end a event with. It also allow me to add a Alpha Legion trophy base on my 1000th game against Ryan from Throne of Skulls April 2018.

The Master of Possessed with the flame been re-painted. I'm thinking of possible adding a few skull to the chain on his hip. Not to many, just one or two of them.

The new Obliterators. The third (Middle) was complete on Tuesday. Really happy how the unit turn out & happy they pick up the Company of Legend award that Warhammer World. Just it was from see a friend conversion 2001 of Obliterators for there Thousand Sons that where one of a few other reason that led to me collecting Iron Warriors as well.

Knight Rampager almost there. He ready for undercoating. Because I can often feel rubbish the day after return home from Nottingham - Anxeity of travel can see me with some of the worst headache. I though take thing easy & when I was in a ok moment, getting thing done like baseing & fixing broken models from the weekend. He going to have his first game next week in a Chaos Knight vs Knights game.

While thinking of update. I've been looking that my Chaos Siege Knight. It more going to update the skulls that are on the Hellcannon. The once sculpted onto the model (finecast) look far to cartoony & also a few spike broke off during the weekend. I'm going to update the skulls & where spike have broken off, I'm going to add a few new trophy from games that been important. One them was the Campaign weekend 2018, against a Blood Angels Librarian.

It good to add on & update models. It add new life to them & again part do get release that we think look cool & would have added to a model we'd just finish.

Brand new object marker that where all painted on Sunday. The object marker I had (2013) where starting to fall apart, just down to wear & tear. So though it was time update them a bit & this time base them on Primaris Ultramarines. Again bring in, new part been release as to be honsty there better Chaos Icon that been release over the past few years. Also wanting to use the Warhammer World map with my Iron Warriors take part in a lot of events down there.

Update

Start thing off, Warhammer Edinburgh took a photo of my Obliterators that the start of the week. Took the day off & a trip up there to get some much needed space. Though I would take the Obliterators with me as I know a lot of people who go to the store & the staff. Also talk to them about the recent Throne of Skulls event I went to. This has been posted over on there facebook & Instagram accounts.

I've been really busy. In fact I had to cut my holiday short as there been far to much to do. Hoping by the 26th, that will be the end of it & going to look into try sort out time a bit better so this doesn't happen again. We all need some space & time to our self.

With what time I have had. It taken me a while bit longer to get my Rapier Artillery crew converted up. This will be my third unit of Laser destroyer. It just over time, Games Workshop has release a lot of kits. If they where out during the time of other units, I would have 100% use them right away. In this case it one of the new Primaris Scouts? They have a lot comm & extra that look really cool & fit in really well with what I want.

The Laser Destroyer are just waiting on a few base. Instead of the large base (once for Maulerfiend). I'm putting them on the one the Mechanicus walker on, since the Chaos Marines need to be on separate base. While gutting, it will make it a lot more easier to carry the models for my games.

The painted - Black Stone Fortress, Chaos Marines will also join this squad. I've always like the model & since painting him (test model, know new Chaos Marines where due soon), he needed a squad to join.

One thing I've wanted to try get done for a while. Was to convert up a squad of Iron Warriors base on John Blanche art work from White Dwarf 202 & the 2nd ed Codex Chaos Space Marines. Since getting that White Dwarf in 1996. It has been one of the main (of many) reason I've gotten into Chaos Space Marines. Time & time again this has help toward a lot of conversion & same reason collecting Chaos Space Marines today as I did back then, nearly 24 year ago. I collect armies because I like the models, not because the ETC or ITC tell me to. Rule come & go, but having models I've enjoy painting will always be there.

With the release of the new Chaos Marines range last year, it really help to make this happen. I've also brought in element of Andy Chamber Iron Warriors which where also in that same White Dwarf & adding a bit of my own Iron Warriors for the look. As well as bring in modern element like the Iron Warriors FW helmets & Shoulder Pads.

They will also get there own Rhino transport, following on from Andy Chamber conversion shown below.

One again going back to the Master of Possessed. When I converted up the model, I added a few chain around the hip area of the model. Sort of felt like something was missing from them. While looking for a few other part, found a few Chaos Icon from the Lord Discordant & a spare AoS Varanguard head. So I'm going to add them to the chain which I hope add a bit more to the model. He been great fun to convert & paint. I just need to get around & use him a bit more in my games.

Since last year, I've collected a Thousand Son's force. In November, I'd challenge a friend to get there own Thousand Sons force ready for March 2020. It just for my friend, they struggle to get armies fully painted. The move from one project to another & often mean there playing small skirmish level games. Like me, they just dislike using unpainted models in there games. The challenge was 1: get a game, as we've only had one & there a good person, 2: Get them focuse on getting a force painted, 3: We are both using same faction, it going to help both of us learn psychic phase. I've only ever use a psychier in 5th ed for my Space Wolves & near the end 7th ed for my Iron Warriors.

I'm aim on take some army photos before our game. But for now, I've just got these two models that are nearly complete.

This sorcerer just need shoulder pads. I replace his arm's after not been to keen on the once chosen before. Sadly I've not been able to get any of the Dark Eldar wings from ebay or any bit site, so that be something for later on. Right now it more about just having the model painted.

Got the Death Korp trophy added to the Mk2 version of Varik Drago. This was base on a game that my gaming club tournament in 2018. Where it was just Varik all by himself holding his ground & holding a object from turn 2 to turn 6 (two wounds by then). He'd slay two unit of Death Korps (some may flee), slay three character... one them was with a Daemon shell bolt round, while in combat. By turn 5 he was standing his ground against 8 Basilisk, which brought him down to two wounds before the game ended.

Just two week ago I was that Throne of Skulls. I though I would show some of the games. Warhammer World event are really great fun, it a great environment & really positive toward the hobby. It say a lot, on how much I enjoy attending when you think of the cost with travel down there, hotel & money kept aside for the food during the weekend. No one really seem left out & just a great energy from the event. A great majority of my games have been among the best once I've fought in the hobby. There been so many great moment & why I add trophy to my Iron Warriors.

In fact, last year I fought Knights in round 1. The person I game against saw me there & quick talk with me. They where just saying sorry about using Knight & felt bad, but I point out I have no issue & really enjoy gaming against Knights. I then went on to show them a trophy base on our game, with them rememeber me saying why I done that. This then led to them shown a few of there oppent & friends, making there day that I'd done that & how we needed to try get a game that a future event.

Custodian - There was only five models left by the end of the game.

Abaddon went though everything so this could happen. I really wanted Warsmith Abhorred Riddick to get into combat from the start. But sadly maelstrom cards led him away for a object & to take on a unit of Obliterators for the points. But this happen in the end, it really was meant to happen & honesty while a great game. It had been the most stressful moment for both of us as it really did come down to one dice rolls with no command points left.

Emperor Children - It always graet to have a brilliant game to end a great weekend. Sadly we had to call it turn 4, but did have a quick talk on turn 5 to allow my oppent to get those extra points with there Maelstorm cards

Again, would honesty recommend Warhammer World events & go there with the right mind set. For me, it just a weekend of gaming & to enjoy the hobby. If someone forget something, let them go back & do that. If they get a malestorm card they can't do eg: killed a Psychier & you don't have one, let them redraw it. It just a game that the end of the day & lot people are there for same reason & maybe spent same amount money to travel & stay in Nottingham.

Update

I've been in lock down since last Sunday, only really going out yesterday to get to my local Warhammer store pick up some supply. I keep my view to myself, the only thing I will say is - Please if your not needing go out due to work or other important reason. Stay home. While you might feel fine, it will effect other.

I know on Monday, I was advice to avoid travel on public transport during peak hour travel. I have issue with my sinus & get cold, cough, virus & sinus infection. Then since this weekend, been told to reduce myself from going to Tesco down the road from me. But I have also been advice to keep going for a walk during the day, area I tend to go to always quite anyway & why I go there. So that just to help my lung & heart rate.

Instead of buying what I wanted. I ended up buying what I needed.

With yesterday & today off. I've been painting the Chaos Knight Rampager. But I always wanted to spend a bit of this moring & later on in the day, converting up a Venom Crawler. I did try painting the standard version, but to be honesty I really hate the face of the Venom Crawler model. A few week ago with the Lord Discordant on my painting station, though would see how it would go. It now led to this conversion which is very Work in Progress.

The Lord Discordant himself is been kept for a Warpsmith conversion I have planned. It just waiting for the new Bile to get release. So I'm hoping we see him this weekend.

The John Blanche & Andy Chamber inspired unit from White Dwarf 202. They get painted this week. I'm taken a week off from Thursday, as I've got a Eldar force to finish painting for a friend so there ready for them to pick up once this virus goes away or settle down.

I've got plans to convert there Rhino to fit in with Andy Chamber one, again seen in WD 202. That all get shown (WD page) when the model ready. Also part for the Champion should arrive during the week & I can start converting him. The fourth Battle Brother is built, it just I've not had the time add green stuff to a gap on the model that the moment.

Soon - My Thousand Sons photos will get posted. Been mean to do this for a long time. Back in November I challenge a friend that both of us would get our Thousand Sons armies painted for March 2020, there would be 9 command point no matter the detachment. It was more about help them focuse on painting there models as they often jump from one project to another & try get them get more games of 40k.

Sadly the game never happen. But I've been happy with how the army turn out & the photos have been taken today. It just down time upload them onto the B&C album, then copy & paste each photo one by one.
