Update

I've forgotten to get a few photos of the Rhino. But that get done for the next update & it should have weather powder & last detail done by then. But also spent today painting up these three Berserker for the third unit.

With the two Battle Brother painted a few week ago for this squad.

Then built these models a few hour ago using part from the Hero Space Marine models. Just I'm unsure if the MkVII legs I bought on ebay will arrive in time for the World Eater first game. Sadly didn't get the Hero Marines I sort of wanted, but once I could still use for conversion. It just I really want to get the last three models built for this game & not use Bloodletter quite yet. Anyone following the older army log will remember it taken about three year to get my Chaos Guards collected as it kept going on/off & I don't want to go though that again with any army I collect if I can help it.

Here the Hero Marines I got today... Along with order the Black Stone Fortress.

I will be building the Captain as he is a cool model. But I want to use the base for the third & finial Berserker. Only thing is I don't have any Marine legs left. This might get sorted during tomorrow, as I'm also running out of plastic & super glue that the moment as well :(

Then spent a little bit of time just painting the metal trim on the Maulerfiends. I just wanted to try get them out of the way & tomorrow night be aim spend a hour getting the shade done. Once that done, it pretty easy after word. It just this phase, anyone who painted a Heldrake will know.

Looking good! These Zerkers are all very flavourful. But I´m intrigued about the double-handed axes from the Blood Reaver kit, would you say that they could fit onto the torso of a Primaris Marine? I had that concept for some time but was unsure if they would look too small or janky.

And also because this is my first post on your topic I wanted to say that I love all of your work and allways get an inspirational boost when looking at the conversions and paintjobs. So keep up the great work!

Quick update

The World Eater are almost there. Tomorrow will see there first game which will be against Primaris Blood Angels.

I've been spending the past few days painting away, trying to get as much done. Just for me personal, I can not use unpainted models in game if I can help it. I general find it off putting & pretty much ruin the motivation.

So here the third unit of Berserker. Spending today getting as much of the unit painted as possible. Aim have them all complete by the weekend.

Then the three maulerfiend, which I've spent about three night (about a hour per night) getting the base coat block in. Now that done & after tomorrow game, I will focuse on painting them separate with highlight & other details.

Then the last three Berserker for my 2000pts list for tomorrow game. So they get undercoated & spray with mephiston red. The one that the front was built, but the super glue I had was going funny & I wasn't in the best mind set - stressful with public transport been unreliable as always. So get that sorted tomorrow, but that least there all base.

Then how the World Eater are looking that the moment.

Just a very quick update. With another update happen tomorrow as tomorrow the 17th November will mark 17 years since I started collecting Iron Warriors, with Warsmith Abhorred Riddick start it all on 17th November 2001.

But for now

Using the Hero Space Marines as part toward conversion. The left arm was cut away & replace with the bionic arm that the Plasma gun Hero Marine has.

So today mark 17 years, since I started collecting the IVth Legion. With Warsmith (below) Abhorred Riddick been the first model. I've collected Chaos for years, before the IVth Legion it was mainly the Black Legion that was Khorne heavy.

With the Iron Warriors, I started collecting them for a few reason & never look back really. First part is, there Chaos my main faction in the hobby & it the same reason now as it was back in 1996 for collecting Chaos. Index Astarties article was been release in the White Dwarf, going into a bit more depth into the Legion & Chapter, later bring in rules to allow them in game. The art work from the Index Astarties article, I also like history with siege & trench warfare sort been the main once for me. Also a friend had converted up some really cool Obliterators for there Thousand Son's force back in 3rd ed, back then they where complete different been able to take 6 in a unit but they couldn't all fire the same weapon that once.
Also I was going to use the Iron Warriors in my first ever event - Conflict Scotland in 2002, after promise the friend who converted the Obliterators that I would attend.

My Iron Warriors has been a force I've gone back to time & time again. Going though different version as my skills in the hobby change. With me starting Mk6 (current) back in 2011 to mark ten year collect the 5th Grand Company & along with other force is now near 800 painted models.

But here Warsmith Abhorred Riddick, the first model to start all of this in Nov 2001. I've always kept the model & always kept him on display along side my current Iron Warriors. Beside him is my Black Legion Lord from 1996, first conversion & one day will see a all new updated models with Black Stone fortress shown updated Chaos Marines a few week ago.

Few models I've kept from the first version. With the soon to be Lord Narach to the right arm with a Power Fist. Then the Sorcerer Krull, I've added a updated model of Krull back in 2012 as the aim with the current Iron Warriors was to bring back a lot of the older character & units to keep there history alive. Krull was painted the day before Conflict Scotland - A habit I've gotten into since then before a lot of events.

Warsmith Abhorred Riddick Land Raider. Gotten the model on Christmas, just remember wake up about 3am & started building.

As said aim with the current army was bring back some the units from back then. So the Land Raider below, built & painted last year meant to be updated version of this Land Raider. But now carry Lord Narach & his unit of Terminators bodyguards, as Warsmith Abhorred Riddick became a Daemon Prince when codex 3.5 was release & like the metal Daemon Prince model that was release that the time.

2nd ed Chaos Dreadnought that was part of the first era of this army. Again gotten around Christmas time for my army & led up to Conflict Scotland. Since then he has been paint strip & was repainted a few year ago. I've always like the 2nd ed look of the Dreadnought model. Just I'm not all to keen on the plastic Helbrute model to be honesty & often look out for the Forge World version or I would look that converted up a Marine Venrable Dreadnought to be honesty. I just don't like the mutation look that it has along side the Dark Vengeance Chosen.

I will need to try get my Dreadnought back into a few games.

Then some progress on the World Eater.

Now painting the Maulerfiend separate, so just get highlight & other detail painted.

Then spending today getting the third squad nearly finish. I just need to pick up another box of tuft grass from my local Games WOrkshop store during the week. Then it just all the finial detail after that.

Sadly didn't get to many photos. But mange to get the World Eater there first game during the week there. Sadly not everything was painted, but that least none of it was bare plastic.
But they've got a game against Space Wolves this week & I'm going to aim get a army photo of them ether before or after the game. As well as a few more in game photos as well that my club.

Maulerfiend I was painting yesterday night.

The last Berserker built to bring my current force to 2000pts. This was one of the models I had to quickly spray & shade on Thursday moment before I had to travel for my game against the Blood Angels.

While building the three Berserker the day before the game was due. I though I would base one on a Fallen Blood Angel to wind up my friend. If anything he was the second last Berserker to fall... Three unit of Primaris Marines failed to take him down ether fail to wound or I made my save. Took a unit of Hellblaster to take him down in the end... much to my mocking toward my friend. So I am going to base this Blood Angel on his company & will not let him forget this.

Then how the World Eater where looking yesterday.

I just need to start building object marker now. One of my idea is to have a few World Eater against Orks. So ether slay Orks or themselves haven fallen. I've go a few Khorne Icon from the Wrathmonger set as well kicking about that I might also place. Try make these into mini diorama's.
I would also like to theme one of the Berserker around Teethgrinder (any veteran forum member should know him & his World Eater force).

There also the last few models for my Call of Chaos vows that I should hopeful have sorted by tomorrow. As in they will get base & ready for undercoating. Just allow me paint them when time permit as there only a month left & it easy to loss track.

The Land Raider is well-painted, but I notice each of the twin lascannon's components are mounted at different elevations. Is it a sign of Daemonic corruption, i.e., the Land Raider is mutating like a flesh-and-blood animal, the process shifting the twin lascannon's components out of alignment?

Quick object marker & also with a painting comp that my local store with the theme been Orks or Beastmen. Aim on building a few of the Object marker as Berserker standing over slay Orks about to claim trophys. Or fallen Berserker with Khorne Icons & skulls. So hopeful get them built pretty soon.

Just got these Three Berserker to paint tomorrow so there ready for there second game.

The third unit Berserker, beside one of the model show above. The squad just got varnish during today & finial detail added. So there complete for Call of Chaos.

Also getting the Rhino varnish & starting the weather powder. Again for Call of Chaos this will be complete for that. Aim go back & getting the Combi Bolter painted during the weekend.

Then a bit more work painting the Maulerfiend a hour ago. There just a lot of highlight that needed.

Mange to get a spare hour & a bit, gotten some paint on this World Eater who theme on Teethgrinder warband.

Then just finish painting these two Berserker with Blood for the Blood god.

Mange to get the second & third Maulerfiend varnish yesterday. There still a lot highlight & blood for the blood god to add. But that going to wait until the Christmas holidays, current don't have the time to spare with the led up to the holidays.

Using one of the Chaos Marines from Black Stone as a test model for my Iron Warriors. As it look like we are due new Chaos Marines, with Black Stone & then the preview we saw during the weekend. As said before, I really hate the mutated look of the Chosen from the 6th ed box game & Helbrute. Visual/look/image is important to me when collecting a army, same goes for a gaming table as well & why I always like going to Warhammer World events.

So this lot will get painted tomorrow during my day off.

I'm also going to try get a small Ultramarine Primaris squad painted. Around this time last year, I painted up a unit (not for me) with it been the first time painting the Primaris that where not trophy. Really enjoy painting the models & have been thinking about this for the past year.

Finial getting around to getting both the Heavy Bolter & Grenade Iron Warriors all finish. The Heavy Bolter IW was built for the Kill-team campaign happing that my gaming club. While the Grenade Iron Warrior was converted after see the Hero Marine & lucky getting the model, last one my store had as well.

Here they are with the Trench theme unit.

Then the Black Stone Fortress Chaos Marine. As said I've never been keen on the Chosen from the 6th ed era box game as I found them to be "to" mutated. So see the Chaos Marines with the Black Stone Fortress got me really looking forward to & hope for the new Chaos Marines to match them more than anything else. I just wanted to get this model done just to get a idea & as said because I think they look cool.

Then the Khorne Herald for my Daemon force. Syn sculpted the trim & khorne icon for me. The model been inspired by Storm of Iron & Dead Sky Black Sun with the Slaughterman, a suit of Iron Warrior armour that has a Khorne daemon in there.

Finial - Getting the sort of last World Eater painted as part of my 2000pts list. This Battle Brother been base upon Teethgrinder World Eater, which any forum veteran will know & know how cool they've look & how much they've inspired many World Eater hobbiest. Teethgrinder base his World Eater force on the classic art work & models from Rough Trader & 2nd ed, with the MkV look.

Now how it all look. There still a few thing left, like highlight the Maulerfiend. But that can wait for the Christmas holidays now, when I can keep a few days aside for that & just paint away.

Really like the Herald, and now that you mentioned it with the the possessed armour, wasn´t that Kroeger´s armour who was killed by his "slave-girl" which in turn was empowered by khorne or even was possessed by him directly if I recall it correctly, it has been some time since I read the Iron Warriors Omnibus. Also I read Angel Exterminatus just a year ago which put a smile on my face when i read about the entire crew that became the base for Honou´s adventures.
