Electro priests, GOOOOOD!

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Has anybody else used the fulgurite priests yet? I have tried them in 2 games and been very pleasantly surprised. They pack one hell of a punch and when used as a counter charge they make mince meat of the opponent!

Bjorn the felhanded.. 6 mortal wounds on the charge---- dead

wolf guard w/storm shield 4 mortal wounds with 2 guys--- last model survived (he used CPs to pass moral)!!!

Lychguard  4 mortal wounds on the charge followed by 3 in fight 5 guys - - - dead

deceiver took last 3 wounds off in charge

tomb blades 2 mortal wounds on charge 3 in fight with 4 guys.

seriously, if your umming and arring about these dudes just take them!  these are the kills after 2 games! If we get tranports from FW then I can see these guys becoming much more aggresive!

Anybody else had good times with these formally dog turd chaps?

I'm taking two groups of 5 in my friendly event day tomorrow. Hopefully they do alright! I was pleasantly surprised with 5 of them in a pickup game earlier so I hope to play on some terrain-dense boards that let them get in a few punches.

Fulgerite priests have been the model that's always worked in game 1, and never ever worked in game 2.

The moment my opponents truly realize what footslogging priests can do, they've never made it across the field a second game.

10/10 praying for transports.

I don't send them across the board, I leave them out of LOS in my deployment and/or behind a line of vanguard to deter deep strikers form going near my onagers!  But yea, if transports come out I will be going on the offensive with them a whole lot!

i gotta agree here, if your opponent has no idea about em he's like all  "ooh funny shirtless guys who are blind hehe :happy.:  silly guys...."

then you actually get close to someone and get to open the can of Sparkle whoop-ass on em and then next time you play em they're all like " Open fire, ALL weapons! :censored: " ...

transports are our dream for 8th....or a secret Ad-mech portable teleportation device  ...

cheers, Mithril

I feel like 2 groups of 5 is not the best way to run them.

Firstly, you do a mortal wound for every 6 rolled per model on the charge.   So with a 5 man squad you don't statistically expect to even get 1!  In reality you often will get 1 or 2, but rolling 10 dice you have a far higher probability of using this power to seriously wound your target...

This means the target has a far greater chance of getting destroyed in the subsequent melee... which unlocks your super saiyan final form - a unit with a 3+ invulnerable and 5+ FNP is hilariously resilient :D

So yeah...  there's no way taking them in 2 small squads is as effective.

My experience with my new fulgurites is mixed - they have smashed up some stuff but also died quickly. They do represent a target for first turn shooting, for sure.

Wow, you'd see the Electro Party Bus from a mile away! :p

I found painting Electro Priests a bit tiring but the Fulgerite priests look easier to paint than the Corpuscarii. I think I'm going to wait until Fires of Cyraxus before I decide what direction to take my Mechanicus army. These tactics threads are interesting to read in the meantime.

i was thinking of getting some GS cult guys in their rubber hazmat looking suits and put ranger heads on em and make some Tesla Coil type wrist mount for shooting electricity or make up an Arc/electricity type rifle... sad to say but the "tattoo'd blind zealots in rubber boots" look has never done it for me :unsure.:

i do hope we get transports for em...we're very lacking in "Usable" CC Punch at the moment...

Cheers, Mithril

Although the Hippie VW party bus would be a funny sight :biggrin.:

I like literally everything about this concept.  :D
