General Strike
So, I'm putting my Primaris on the shelf until they become more viable as a stand alone force, and moving onto one of my two other planned projects. I'd like your guys input on what you'd like to see more. My next two projects are either:Khârn with Berserkers and a Scarab Occult warband(I know, Khorne with Tzeentch, but it will look cool)Or Ultramarines 4th Co. With Uriel Ventris.Let me know what you guys think my next project should be, cause I'd like help deciding. Firepower
Assuming Chaos is going to get a bad codex? Of all the people to ask... Anyway, if you just want to paint for funsies, the Chaos option sounds more interesting General Strike 1 Back to top
the jeske
Doesn't matter, what I think what the next chaos codex is going to have . Marines are always the safer option. Bigger model line, Larger pool of models, which means better chance to fit the list to the game play one wants. 1ksons won't get many new things in the future, so the rest of a chaos army would have to planed on hope that the zerker stuff will get 2-3 new types of models. And that is beaten by primaris updates alone, as far as number of models goes. Am not a painter, so can't give advice on that, but the marine model line does have more models and higher chance of updates. Xenith
Or, you could paint those primaris, and by the time you have finished painting them, more primaris models will have been released that make them more of a stand alone force.
the jeske
True, plus as it was shown, there is a ton of new primaris models incoming.
The Yncarne
The best project to choose is the one in which you are most likely to finish.
General Strike
I've decided to wait until I get my hands on the C:SM and to see what goes on pre-order alongside it. Seeing the new models made me love them. I think the biggest issue for Primaris is the troops are weak. Intercessors can't hack it yet. So, maybe I will run some 4th Co sniper scouts or tacticals, and play the rest with the beautiful Primaris units. Except I think I'd rather take Devs too. We shall see. I plan to come around to Khârn and the world eaters, I just don't have the hobby time for both at the same time. I might pick up Khârn and paint him anyway, to keep the dream alive. Thank you all for weighing in!
the jeske
nothing is stoping you to run two detachments at 2k points that let you run some grav devs, some scouts and reavers, supported by dreads [primaris or not] and a unit or two of hellblasters. you won't be winnning GT with it, but I do not think it is your goal right now. Trevak Dal
Assuming Chaos is going to get a bad codex? You gotta play those odds man. I don't want to be all Walter on this, but GW has a track record of fumbling with chaos.
