Question About Mars and mechanicum During HH

Recommended Posts

Brothers,

I just finished reading the Master of Mankind and Cybernatica a few days ago.   Are there any other books about the Battle for Mars during the Horus Heresy?   Also when was it taken back from the traitors?    All my lore books are put away where I can not get to them.

Appreciate any info.

During the Great Crusade, the Titan Legions of Mars marched alongside the newly created Space Marines. However, during the Horus Heresy Mars became a key battleground as the loyalist Mechanicus and Dark Mechanicus split. In the resulting Schism of Mars, which devastated the planet, the Dark Mechanicum eventually emerged victorious. After the traitors took over Mars, the Imperial Fists blockaded the world for several years as the Heresy waged. Mars was again claimed by the Imperium after Horus was defeated in the Battle of Terra.

The novel Mechanicum covers the schism of Mars itself. I think maybe Templar and a little bit of Praetorian of Dorn have some little bits mentioning the blockade of Mars, but it's very little.

As far as when Mars was liberated, we don't actually know yet! We'll have to wait and find out. No idea what happens to Kelbor-Hal yet! Assumedly it gets freed from blockade when the Warmaster finally invades the Sol System, but after that we can't be sure.

Guys,

Thanks for the info.    Will try to get the Binary Succession as DarkChaplain  suggested.

before that you need to read Lexicanum and Mechanicus - they are mandatory read, cause Binary Succession takes place almost at the end of the Horus Heresy.
