Brother Captain Sirus Posted July 21, 2017 Share Posted July 21, 2017 As we know shield drones dont have much ability with saviour protocols since the faq, however i have been thinking of trying them as a counter charge unit, they have a decent toughness stat and with a 4+ inv tney may be able to tie up a unit for a round or two as they wont suffer from the AP of enemy melee weapons. Kilofix Posted July 21, 2017 Share Posted July 21, 2017 I do use them as a counter charge unit. Charge the enemy, have enough drone invulnerables to weather 1 round of cc. Next round fall back, shoot with rest of Tau. Or alternatively, screen your gun line, take the opposing charge, over watch, then weather 1 round of cc. Next round fall back, shoot with rest of Tau. Gun Drones wouldn't do the job much worse while having a sick amount of S5 shots on top of that for the same amount of points. No, they get it on top of their 4++. ;) Tho one could argue that for the sake of Saviour Protocols the actual save became a 5+ from the original 4+.
