Lord_Ikka Posted July 22, 2017 Share Posted July 22, 2017 So in the "How are Tau faring in 8th Ed" thread a few comments mentioned wanting/questioning the possibility of battlesuits equipping melee weapons. So instead of continuing to derail that thread, I thought moving the discussion here because it seemed an interesting idea to me. What are your thoughts about melee weapons on battlesuits? Personally, I like the idea. Fluff-wise, having melee battlesuits evolved out of the Farsight Enclave seems really easy to me. Farsight himself uses the only current battlesuit melee weapon. Since Dark Imperium is about 100 years ahead of 7th Ed, it makes perfect sense that the Farsight enclaves have developed a unique battle style that honors their founder and may have helped against their newest enemies (I believe the enclaves encountered Tyranids). I'm looking at the sleek new Primaris Marines and then looking back at my blocky crisis suits and I feel a little like we aren't the bleeding edge of tech any more. Yeah the blocky Crisis suits always looked weird to me. Hence why I mostly try to use the bits for the slightly less blocky body or the more sturdy looking bits. But then again I usually only have like 3 Crisis in my lists since I mostly concentrate on Stealth Suits, Pathfinder and Breacher in my lists. ^^ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
