Saiisil Posted August 6, 2017 Share Posted August 6, 2017 Sadly I think I found the straw that breaks the camels back on this one (was kinda looking forward to using these for either my Grey Knights of Blood Angels). Page 194 under Space Marine Units it says that Adeptus Astartes is short hand only for units with the keywords <Chapter>, Ultramarines, Imperial Fists, Salamanders, White Scars, Raven Guard, Iron Hands, Crimson Fists, or Black Templars. Now I can easily be reading that wrong but I don't think we get to play with the fun rules in this book for our "Non-Codex" Marines. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It states that 'space marine' is sort hand for any adeptus astartes from the codex chapters. And if you look at the Stratagems, Relics and TacticalObjectives sections, the all start with; Space Marine Warlord / Detachment. The Warlord trait section is noticably different where it does not mention a Space Marine Warlord. But an Adeptus Astartes Character. Adeptus Astartes is not shorthand for Space Marine or even Codex Chapter. It's the other way round. If the Warlord Traits were supposed to be restricted to Codex Chapters, then 'Space Marine Character' should/would have been used. Adeptus Astartes is even in bold.
