32nd Assault Company, World Eaters.

Recommended Posts

So I suppose its time to get this thread sorted as I am about to start work on my World Eaters force after pretty much completing, painting and converting my friends Death Guard force.  Over the next few days the last pieces I need/want to actually begin will be arriving.

I have quite a few plans for the models, as well as a fair amount of background fluff which I have been working on for a few years. So I suppose its time to start.

First off we have my Centurion. Borrox (The sketch is really rough)

20170809 224225[1]

He is a dark and callous Centurion who led the 32nd into war for the past two centuries. The black pelt he wears was once draped on the back of Sigvyald the wightblood. A Space Wolf champion from the Great Company Sepp, who is either a member of the Deathsworn or company champion. And you can probably guess who's skull is sitting on the spike above his powerpack. He and his company are either going to follow Angron into the Heresy at his side, or take off and start carving their way across the Ultima Segmentum until they meet their end.

If you care for a bit of fluff, take a read: its poorly written and pretty bloody.

The wolf snarls and swings again, catching me on the jaw.

Allowing the blow I return by launching into him taking the brawl to the ground. Unarmed, the only way I can kill him is by my hands. Pain flares in my side as his knife is jammed into my flank. It does not stop me, it only drives me further into the arms of madness.

I headbutt him again and again crushing his nose and lower face. It gives me the opening I need to end it. In his daze I manage to pry my hands from his grasp and reach for his skull. I plunge my thumbs deep into his eyes, not enough to kill but enough to finish the job. He reaches down and unsheaths his knife, ramming it into me again and again howling in fury, not that I can hear with the deafening wall of noise around us. I start to maul him, tearing his flesh away with my iron maw, I finally get a solid chunk of his flesh and tear out his Jugular. Unable to survive the damage caused, he musters the little strength he has to dig the blade one more time into me.

Hearts pounding, I raise my blooded head and look to the fight. The wolves are in rout, the blackened earth around is the sight of a massacre, bodies piled upon bodies, rivers of blood flowing down the uneven ground.

I pick myself up and try to find something a weapon, something not battered blunt or shattered.

The search is cut short by a Brutal howl to the right. The chainsword cuts through my arm and into my chestplate. I pull away, dodge the next swing and make some distance. Looking to where i was, stands a giant bear of an Astartes, draped in the blackest furs, the skulls of humans, xenos and some new additions. His white mane matted with blood and almost comically small hazel eyes only add to his monsterous, menacing appearance.

"Mongrel, I am your death. Sigvyald, the Wightblood, slayer of Azekeal, Champion and Lord of..."

I am already closing the gap, moving far faster than he thought. Its obvious even as I move he is too overconfident and underestimates me. I dive into his abdomen, shattering my shoulder and crushing his plating. The pommel of his blade is brought down on my head, bringing me to the floor and almost knocking me unconscious. He could end it there, but he moves away allowing me to try again. The pain dulls as I rise to my feet. He allows me the time to get up and waits. Looking around, I spot a handaxe. Retrieving the weapon I finally let go. Since the start of the battle I have kept myself from falling to the nails the best that I could. Keeping them at bay this long is good enough. My vision hazes over and the burning fury is released.

I howl.

When I awaken, I am bound in The Samnite. The chains are so tight, my head is unable to move. As things start to gain focus, I see Vehgir and his bloody grin. Its obvious that he was not expecting me to come round this time. Its not the first time this has happened. Vehgir loosens the chain, still weary, after all, I am a World Eater. I look down at the deck. Beneath me lies a pelt as dark as the abyss, Carefully placed above is the head of Sigvyald looking on with his lifeless eyes.

Onto the model.

Just to get a view of what I intend to do, my plan is to do a fair bit of work with the Gabriel Seth model probably removing the cape and modelling a new one from green stuff or playing around with the already added cape. I will more than likely remove the Evicerator blade completely for my Flesh Eaters force and replace it with a MKIII Evicerator from the forgeworld weapon upgrade kit keeping the pose as is, or replace the weapon entirely and chuck in a reaver chainaxe and give him a plasma pistol.

Will have some updates over the next couple of days.

So I have officially started my Assault company

Subject 1

My Gabriel Seth model arrived and I have trimmed away all heraldry, started the process of marking the armour to give it a bit of a battle damaged look and started using some green stuff in this manner for the first time. I would love some feedback on how it is looking currently, I have tried to give it a more natural looking texture for the hair and fur. Personally I think it has come across alright, however some criticism would be grand before I get to doing the hefty fur cape on his back. I have a lot of free time at the moment, so I plan to get a lot of work done.

I was originally going to go with the Tassets, however I wanted to make him a bit more bestial than what we usually see with World Eaters.  I am set on now arming him with a chainaxe but I will save that for last.

Subject 1.1

The more I work on this model, the more I want to make it a god damn VIth Legionary.

Thats cs us Wolves rock!!!

The fluff is great and indicative of the savagery which took pace o the night of the wolf.

A good start to your model, if this is your centurion, what are your plans for doing the nails? I have a Khârn head spare, but would be a few weeks before I get home.

The pelt itself is well done, however, if you are putting a big pelt on his back, maybe the one on his front is a bit much, I'd suggest either do one or the other, the front could have chains to represent the freeing from the slavery of the Imperium or a symbolic gesture like the chains around Khârn and Angrons arms? Maybe Black Templar arms?

Another thought might be some wulfen pads with the wolf heads carved off, to give a different outline and possibly a bare arm from the Catachan or chaos marauders might help give a more gldiatr look. Also if the Centurion has been fighting for 2 centuries he is likely a Terran so Eagle head with thunderbolt detailing

Thank you!

The Centurion is from a planet called Palaemon, an oceanic planet with a human population based somewhat on the cannibalistic tribes around New Zeland. I will be honest, I have not gone into too much depth about the planet other than it pretty much shapes Borrox into what he is, which leads to his natural thirst for extreme violence. Its going to mean there will be a few tattoos around the bare flesh of his head similar to some of the Carcharodon artwork. They are essentially pirates and reavers, which will play into the fluff in the company.

The nails I am currently working on, I was toying with going for the Khârn head originally, but I wanted to keep mine for my actual Khârn model, and the Seth head is absolutely fantastically detailed and looked perfect, Its one of the reasons I went for the model in the first place. (Even after masking half his head in a thick beard)  The back pelt is going to be a bit too much with the front pelt, you are correct. I am going to do a bit of work with it to make sure it does not look like the model is a bloody wulfen rather than a World Eater. I have a few plans for it, including hanging some skulls, chains and fetishes within the pelt, similar to the Angron model and make up some chains for the axehand.

What about making a press mould from the Angron model to give you a base to work from (plus the skulls)

I was thinking about using Russ' cape in a similar fashion. However I have now become quite addicted to working with greenstuff now. I am actually already at a hurdle getting sidetracked by beards, runes and pelts which is not too great for my World Eaters.

I would suggest looking at sbarnby's space wolves primaris dread thread, a he has done a ton of rune and pelt work.

And maybe this I did for ETLhttp://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322393-etl-v-tips-master-thread/?p=4394305
