Transporting Aeldari

Mileposter

Thin models. Precarious positions. Frail weaponry. The physique of the Space Elves (light, dark, and laughing varieties) is one of lithe and nimble grace. Unfortunately, this makes their models a pain to transport stock, to say nothing of any additions we crafters might make to the fragile package.

I'm looking for some way to transport my Aeldari safely to and from the places I'll be playing. Solutions I've tried thus far have not been satisfactory. So I'd like to see - how do you transport your unseemly balanced models (like jetbikes) to a fro? I'm hoping to pine together a solution for my own woes.

Aside from that, buy Tupperware and metal sheet from Walmart/home depot, Then put magnets in bases.

The problem with this are the transparent hovering bases that bikes and grav tanks come with.

This is the basis of my issue, yarr. Lots of bikes!

I would just like to say, that is a fantastic idea and I will probably shamelessly use that in the future; my bases tend to tip so gluing washers to the bottoms and then having a cookie tin covered in magnets to keep them in place would solve a lot of transporting issues for me,

One method a local player uses for transporting his bikes is using plastic egg cartons (I don't know what brand of eggs they are, but the casing is really domed and allows the bikes to nestle in perfectly).

I replaced the transparent base on my bikes with standard bases. Just drill a hole in the center and slot the stem in.

Yep, I did this too- it allows for basing opportunities that clear bases don't as well.

Guy in my group did as CrystalSeer has said more or less. Plastic toolbox, fitted and secured thin metal sheets, and magnets in the bases. By some dark magic it held his venoms and bikes pretty darn good. I am more amazed they didn't come off the plastic stands.

Could I recommend battlefoam? They have pluck-foam trays and even ones shaped for particular units too, plus cases to boot.

The direct alternative to a metal sheet in a box with magnets in the bases is what I've done with my BFG fleet. Buy a magnetic sheet (used for signs on the side of cars (like taxis)) from ebay for about £4 and glue large, flat washers to the bottom of your bases.
