Army building advice...

Hello everyone, especially those much more experienced with sisters than I.

I'm building up a small force of "counts-as" sisters to represent an elite Imperial Army regiment. So far I've gathered that you should go with smaller units unless you go max squad size, but I'm wondering what people would recommend. Due to budget constraints, I'm mostly working with currently owned materials, so the specialist RH1N0s variants are out, though regular RH1N0s would be fine. Currently, I have:

8 sisters with 2 Flamers

8 sisters with 2 meltas

8 celestians with 2 meltas

8 retributors with 4 heavy bolsters

2 Canoness, one power sword one eviscerator

2 dialogus

3 imagifiers

4 RH1N0s

8 death cult assassins

8 arcoflagellants

I have bodies to build 10 more infantry, and may be getting 20 more soon. I know a lot of people push for dominions, and I'm not necessarily against that. I'm just wondering what the more experienced would add or change. I have enough parts that pretty much any weapon loadout should not be any problem.

Please help :-)

Youve got a tidy force there. If you choose to field the arcos and death cultists (both solid cjoices) definately chuck them into the rhinos.

You could do a dominion squad by putting all the meltas into one squad to make Dominion squad. These girls are just such a good option I wouldn't walk past them myself. If you just put the Maltese by themselves with a sister superior you could use the remaining models that you mentioned in your list to increase the size of another squad such as a basic sister squad you could then potentially run a 15 girls squad and run a dialogue is behind it to help negate any morale difficulties.

I wouldn't bother running celestians myself just filled them as basic sister squad.

As for the rest I would just field them as you have listed.

So, I've kind of gotten everything figured out for my counts-as sisters, but I have a couple questions:

1. For Dominion and Retributor units, does it make sense to field more than 5 models to have some extra wounds to eat up, or since they're so cheap does it make more sense to take the 5 and just add additional units?

2. Repentia, are they any good? Would models with big old two-handed axes or swords be acceptable as Eviscerators, or do you think they need to be chain weapons for wysiwyg?

3. Exorcists. Should one be ok or should I converte a second to accompany it?

I'm shooting for 2k+ points and am pretty much there, but don't want to lose out on converting anything that could be quite good.

Thanks anyone for any advice :)

An interesting ser of questions. I cant answer the first two as ive never tried fielding larger dom and ret squads than the minimum 5.

Given that you are using Rhinos and not Repreasors, you could add more models to the dom units for extea wound for the meltas given that tjey have to jump out to shoot.

If you converted the Rhinos to Repressors, you could throw two smaller units into them for a nice gunboat...you know what? Convert thhe rhinos to repressors, theyre too good to pass up ;)

Extra Exorcist is awesome for those big point games. Minimum 2. Great for dealing with bikers and termis and other multi wound threat models. Dont target vehicles with them. Waste of time, thats what tour meltas are for.

Thanks for the feedback. Since I'm working on all conversions, I only managed the exorcist because I had the bulk of a couple predators around and had some missile pods to put on it to give it a look of being kinda obviously what it had to be. I keep trying for repressors, but the how of making them keeps eluding me. I'll have to give it another go tomorrow, as they do seem like really nice transports...

Edit: oops, I keep trying to make Immolators, not repressors. This area seems to be really iffy on forgeworld stuff, so I'm not sure a repressor would be the best option for me, since I'd never know when I'd get to play it.

Ah fair enough. Immolators and dominions go hand in hand too...well anything sisters goes well with them.

Whats the hassle with your immos? The turret part? Find yourself a couple heavy flamer/bolter/meltas. Grab a single aegis defence line part and youve got a shielded variant.

Im a fan of the organ cannon exorcist but the official firge world one (which does not have different rules) is just a whirlwind. The pod is slightly boxier but its still a whirlwind.

Exactly that, the turret. I'm largely lacking bits for those weapons, though I feel I'd be likely to use the flamer option. I'm sure I'll find a way. Or I'll destroy a rhino in the process. Either way it'll be fun.

Extra wounds help, so when your transport explodes you don't lose special weapons girls.

Repentia late a Delete button, but they do better against things like primaris Marines or bullgryns.

Exorcists are okay this edition.

Depending on what other armies you play there are several tanks in the imperial range that come with extra bits that could be used to make immolators.

The difference between a rhino and a repressor is mostly in height to allow for gun slits. Card stock is your friend here, as it is cheap and easy.

Also consider adding penitent engines. You need a dreadnought size model with flamers and some suitably brutal looking close combat weapons. If you are mixing in Imperial guard with your conversions, then start with a sentinel and maybe try the arms from Ork killer kans or deffdreads.

Seraphim are also a solid choice.

Definitely swing for that second exorcist.
