Does anyone know how the celexus ability to make opponents hit on 6 works with re rolls and modifiers. Would a space marine reroll 1-5 s or just 1and 2 results. Also would things that have a -1 to hit like a power fist be able to his him as they would have a as of 7

Powerfists wouldn't be able to hit you at all, since they'd need 7s (baring some bonus.)

 

Remember, it alters their characteristic, so it occurs first.

 

Re-rolls would happen as normal (so 1-5 if a chapter master is helping out, 1s if a captain) and they'd get them even if they'd "normally" hit, since their BS/WS is not different (it isn't a modifier but a new set value.)

So no thunder hammers or deamon hammers, no powerfists, and presumably if there's an environmental condition such as the Maelstrom mission which gives a - 1 penalty over a certain distance they can't be shot at

On the subject of funny workings and Culexus Assassin (and because I can't open new topics due to bug)...

 

...how does the Culexus Assassin interact with Smite and other "target nearest unit" psychics? He can't be targeted or affected yet Smite and the like targets the nearest enemy unit.

If he's the closest target to the psyker, the smite will auto-fail, basically (unless they Perils, then it auto-fails and fries the witch for lols.)

Yes reading the wording for Smite shows it makes no mention of affected units being targeted.

 

We roll to manifest the power smite then once it is successful we determine the nearest unit. If that unit is the Culexus, Smite has no affect on him.
