Kellevil Posted September 3, 2017 Share Posted September 3, 2017 (edited) Greetings, This is the start of my Black Templars army and their crusade to cleanse the Imperium of Man from the Heretic, Mutant and the Witch. They have returned from the fringes of known space after more than a century to find the Imperium much different than they left it. Warp Storms, a Primarch returned, the galaxy split in two. There is much work to do, they embark upon the Vindex Crusade! The High Marshal, The Emperors Champion, Honor Guard and a Crusader Squad will ride in a Land Raider Crusader (to be painted next). The axe and plasma pistol Marine must be my favourite! The only thing I'm not a huge fan of are the skulls on the bases, but they just might all be walking through a forsaken battlefield. Keep up the good work and Crusade on! Thanks brother, I was conflicted about the skulls but I wanted something different than my norm. Why land on a barren planet? Maybe something called to them ... a cryptic comm message originating from a planet with no signs of life on any of their scanners. I was dry fitting them last night and the torso was not fitting very well. It doesnt fit well on all of the mk3 legs. Try several different leg/torso combos. Also because of the tabbard the torso rides a littte higher than normal but its not noticable. The shield with the red and black checker is from the assault marine box I think and the other one came out of my bits box but I think it was a terminator storm shield. Your crusade as a whole is looking great and I particularly like your axe-wielding Sword Brethren. I really like how the sword brethren cam out as well. I wish the codex entry for honor guard gave more options for weapons but I do like the axes. It would make more sense for the sword brothers to actually have swords though . The old metal sm vet that is now a sword brother will one day get a cape to match his brethren, but I have been unable to make one that I am happy with yet.
