I don't read e-books, so this is great news for me. Bring on the dead trees!

I don't really see this affecting scheduling much anyway. Abnett is a speedy author when he wants to be.

Have you seen his schedule  - from his twitter only he was totally working non-stop in the last 2 months on Aquaman, teen titans, some mouse universe and another marvel 'masterpiece' crap. Yes - I do not LIKE comics.

Abnett is a speedy author when he wants to be - depends on 3 statuses. His health, his money and tax report, his scheduling interviews/meetings/seminars timetable.

It is also known - that Abnett could write almost a full novel for 250 pages - and then he doesn't like the end result - and rewrite it from scratch in the next 2 months.

So - even in any good sense - it is hard to call him a speedy author. With all respect and it's my humble opinion. Just mention - that 'this' coming from a person - who CAN'T WAIT to read 'Warmaster' and dream about 'Interceptor city' come true.

Firstly you do like comics you just haven't read the right one yet. Try Dark Horse Conan the Slayer or Marvel Now Thanos and you will say I do.

Anyhow..... Yes Abnett is a speedster but he is a man in demand, for obvious reasons. However I have a sneaking suspicion that he might have banked up some 40k works, or a least have heavily detailed several of the books outlines. So we could get a flush of novels, now he has effectively been given the go ahead to write at will. Could be total codswallop but maybe not

Point is - he should have written them with the changes for the setting in mind - or they would be outdated on birth, lol

That is only a valid point if he's writing anything post-GS. I don't see pre-GS books going anywhere.

True. GG and Inquisitor storylines are safe. Or not - cause GW being a company who sell new shining models - could simply drop old settings. They need to sell Primaris now

But we do know that Black Library's been turning back to a creative playground lately and GW has gone much more hands off without enforcing strict tie-in releases as a few years ago. Why'd they bounce back to overlord state when the current model actually works and gets people excited? I don't see Kirby coming back anytime soon!

That solely depends on the revenues GW will make in the nearest future.

From the most recent financial reports:

In March 2017 we strengthened and refocused the Black Library team to ensure we continue to produce bestselling novels that bring our characters and worlds to life.

We will also continue to invest in Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, Forge World, our specialist games and Black Library with exciting product launches planned throughout 2017/18.

Nevermind the revenue, which was up almost 33% in the year to May 28 2017 compared to the previous year. I'd say yes, it is working as hoped already.

Man - come on. You really think you will see 'the truth' in the financial reports? Nobody show the real financial reports (without edits) to shareholders and 'people'.

It's business first and what you want second.

Much as many people like to moan about GW, I for one hope they remain a very successful company so that I can continue to enjoy my BL fiction for years to come!

True - hopefully I will read the ending for the HH, Gaunt Ghosts and die happy

HeritorA, so what you're proposing is that a relatively obscure gaming company ordered certified accountants to falsify financial reports so they wouldn't have to reveal their bottom line to those few consumers interested enough in said information but unable to affect the company's business model? That strikes me as a pretty poor conspiracy theory.

It's pretty crazy to suggest GW is falsifying shareholder earnings reports without any evidence. That's not 'business', it's fraud. It also doesn't make sense for HW to falsify their reports considering the very noticeable resurgence in popularity and consumer goodwill they've been experiencing. I get wanting to win the argument, but making up conspiracy theories only weakens your point.

Okay, am I right on where we left off with Eisenhorn:

It was Eisenhorn and his new Daemon buddy that was left?

As of Pariah:

Gregor Eisenhorn, Harlon Nayl, Medea Betancore, "Alpharius" (maybe), and Cherubael on the one side versus Giden Ravenor, Patience Kys, and Kara Swole on the other.

Going on the quote, it's all Eisenhorn shorts including one's not in print. That to me would include:

Eisenhorn Omnibus (according to Lexicanum, the gf has my version right now so can't verify)

Missing in Action (Short Story) - published in Words of Blood (Anthology) (available electronically)

Backcloth For A Crown Additional (Short Story) - published in Crucible Of War (Anthology) (available electronically)

Thorn and Talon (audio anthology)

Regia Occulta (short story now available electronically)

Master Imus's Trangression (seems to be audio only)

Thorn Wishes Talon (short story in Ravenor Omnibus but not electronically [for completeness that Omnibus also includes Playing Patience which is available electronically])

BL website e-Shorts only

The Keeler Image (although @Never_born's review refers to years of rumours, fittingly given the content, so I took that to mean available in a Games Day/Weekender exclusive)

Born to Us

So the above is seemingly incorrect. Having browsed through the Eisenhorn LE collection, I've realised that they've included some of the ones that I thought were audio only and show that they were realised in prose in Inferno! about 15/16 years ago.

Actually...

it is a little more complex then that by the end of Pariah if you factor in the other factions all vying for control of Beta... Emperor's Children and their allies being one, Word Bearers and their allies being another

Yes!

The Cognitae and the Glaws and others - I was so sad Pariah didn't get an audio book, because it would have been stunning to hear all that description & setting & factions

Such naivety.

I haven't seen fully honest 'business model' in all my long fething life.

Most of what HeritorA says is either very iconoclastic opinion or baseless speculation.

very iconoclastic opinion - I like that. Thank you.

At least this will be one book that won't have prim marines and girlyman floating around. I hope Dan sticks to writing in the old nasty setting.

Well - due to the 90 % of the book being old reprints - you are right.

Amen to that.

Petitioner's City

if you call 1 Glaw leftover a full clan  - you are sadly mistaken

Heritor, this is probably a moot point but nobody's saying GW is entirely honest, just that they're not committing criminal fraud. Falsifying an earnings report will at the very least cost a number of people their jobs and a lot of money in fines/legal fees and at worst result in jail time.

Citation needed on the 90% reprints.

Logic and brains. DC - I know you like everything they throw at you. So the point to prove something to you is pointless. Especially if 'your' Magos is an EXACT  copy of Garro - and especially for you - Garro had a 90 % of already printed/released as audio stuff.

So it WOULD BE THE SAME.

That's it - it's not my humble opinion and I do not owe you anything to prove, same as you to me.

Thank you. You said it best instead of me - yes I ment that business companies are not honest then it comes to the finances.

'Falsifying an earnings report will at the very least cost a number of people their jobs and a lot of money in fines/legal fees and at worst result in jail time.' - Not sure if that works that way in UK. In my country - they would have simply paid a fee and everyone would have closed the eyes on it.
