Which models are the plague marine champion and icon bearer?

The champion is the guy with nurgling wearing a helmet.

Ah OK thanks, not sure I will spend £15 on the model unless it comes with another head option as I really do not like the one in the codex.  I also wont bother with the guy carrying the icon of despair.  I will however pick up one of each of the other characters and one of each of the new releases.  I've been saving for a while lol.

He's shown with another head option in the Codex.

I'm a little disappointed that options for a champion or standard bearer aren't in the PM box itself, but it doesn't necessarily surprise me knowing GW's pricing strategies. But like a sucker, take my money cause I'm addicted to the new death crack.

The options for both are in the box as far as I am aware, they just seem to be offering a more fancy version of each as extra sculpts, I assume because they liked the extra models the artist created and decided to sell them too.

I am personally happy, as the more variety the better as I am not much of a converter.

Well that would be alright then.

Either way, I'll be buying them (grumble grumble about all of the cool stuff to buy)

How is the bloat drone £30?!? Im hoping it has enough bits for converting a DI bloat drone with different weapons and it wont be a massive kitbash job

Seriously mate it's a dreadnought equilvant model with 3 different weapon options of course it'd be around the same price

Actually looking at the article in WD, the box set of PM is only 7 models, and no champion or standard bearer option, so $50 for the 7 marines, $25 each for the champion and SB = $100 for 9 marines... ouch!

That's yet to be seen. Just because they show only 7 PM on the two pictures combined it doesn't mean there are only 7 in the box.

I realize the WD only shows 7, but we are probably fooling ourselves hoping for a box of 10 with bits for a Champion and Standard when those models are available seperate. I hope I'm wrong, but this does leave a bit of a "foul, putrid and vile" taste in my mouth if GW took the approach that seems to be on display in the WD. :D

Yeah but as DeadFingers mentioned above, there ARE champion and banner bearer in the box. Just different ones.

Yeah, He was posting as I was, so I couldn't edit in time. ;)

It is clear by Deadfingers post that options are available, and I hope I am wrong on the only 7 model count in the box. It felt truly greedy and deprived, even for GW, so shame on me for not giving them the benefit of the doubt.

I counted the legs on all the pictures showing Plague Marines and I can only find 7 different ones, so for now I think the box will be 7. Then again I did count 8 different backpacks, but I think one of them is a special one for the Plague Spewer/Blecher.

And you shattered my dreams again... LOL

Well some of the legs are exactly the same apart from the tabbard so maybe the tabbards are seperate pieces.

7 is such an unacceptable number. Either do squads of 5 with 1 of each special weapon to push the idea that you're supposed to get two boxes, or do the box of 10 with everything you need for the unit like the rubrics got. 7 is a really terrible number; two boxes to get a squad of ten gives you four left over guys, who can't even form a minimum sized squad; three boxes for 20 gives you one left over guy.

I thought we'd left this silliness behind with the eldar metal aspect warriors; I guess the rubrics should be repackaged to only have 9 guys now and any impending beserkers and noise Marines will be in boxes of 8 and 6 respectively, regardless of unit size

Since when does GW have 7 unique legs in one box? Aren't there normally 2 sets of 5 leg types?

I guess because of the size, you need to be £35 to get ten models (ala Intercessors)

Rubrics are the same price and include ten models....

Well some of the legs are exactly the same apart from the tabbard so maybe the tabbards are seperate pieces.

I did the "leg science" by looking for specific details, so the seven leg bits are as follows:

1- Spiky right leg with some flesh on the right foot. Skull (?) next to left foot.

2- Plaguebearer kneepad.

3- Trilobe rune kneepad, horns growing out of right foot.

4- Drippy liquid with skull kneepad.

5- Maggots everywhere.

http://puu.sh/xJmYX/04e29c9431.jpghttp://puu.sh/xJn1b/0c0fdf773b.jpg

6- Fly kneepad, tentacles coming out of both feet. Note that even though the axe is obscuring th eknee ont he second one, the tentacles are still there.

7- Skull kneepad, trilobe rune under skull.

And those are all I could find. If anyone's willing to give it a try and look for more, you're welcome to do so, but I did spend a good while scanning through every pic I could find.

And before anyone else looks at this guy below and gets excited, he's a kitbash using the standalone Champion's body and legs. Bugger had me fooled for a second.
