Hey all.

I'm putting together a 1500 points list for next weekend and I would like to see what you guys have to say to my list so far.

All total -1501 pts.

The only things left in my army which is not on the list is:

Vets with marksman are very strong, but is suggest giving them either two MLs or heavy bolters with suspensor webs, and artificer armor on the sergeants.

I'd shave off points by running the kheres dread over the Las version, and dropping the ceramite on your heavy support. It's less useful in smaller games anyway.

On a larger note, two troops choices is a little risky for PotL, since they're a free point if your opponent kills them all. Maybe try to squeeze in a second rhino for squad two at least? That's four targets at least.

Also, if you're running Fists, might as well take advantage of their unique junk. A stormshield on the praetor can go a long way. Also, where is he going? With the footslogging vets?

I would love another rhino but I only have one :ermm:

On the ceramite note I've put it there since the last game I had at 1500 my Sicaran was killed by a melta that would have been saved if it had armoured ceramite and I would not want to lose it again so easy.

The praetor is going to team up with the vets without a rhino.

I have thought of putting him with a 5 man termie squad but I have no transport for them so I am worried they will be a slow target and won't really go anywhere.

Bit of a faux pas to go one point over, but you do satisfy the rite of war's limitation about most units having the Legiones Astartes rule.  That's often forgotten.

Leviathans without Dreadnought Drop Pods have trouble getting in range of anything, especially with the relatively empty space of a 1500pt battle.  Try it, but you may decide you need more mobility.  You'll eventually want that second Rhino.  With the models you have, I'd suggest teleporting Terminators (only a couple of legions get teleport transponders, and yours is one of them).  If you shave points elsewhere you may be able to get the Vindicator into the list too.  I'd reconsider the armored ceramite on the Sicaran - I can see your logic, but at 1500 points everything needs to be a little more bare-bones.  And in 30k it's common for meltaguns or bombs to come in fives or more, at which point armored ceramite isn't likely to save AV12.

Also remember you don't have to pick your veterans' ability until the beginning of the game.  With bolters it's hard to beat marksman, but you never know.  They have enough attacks for weapon masters to sometimes make sense.
