But the packmaster has Khorne emblem on him and is very fitting in with the rest of the forgeworld renegades range. For someone converting a Tzeentch themed list, do you think the Ogroid Thaumaterge would be a good alternative? Can simply swap his magic staff for an Ironstrider Lance (would this be too big?) to stand in for the Mauler Goad. The Hounds however look great whatever faction, but you cant get them seperately. Anyone have any games workshop recommendation for Tzeentch style hounds that would fit in with Tzaangors, Kairic Acolytes and Thousand Sons. Tamika Posted October 4, 2017 Author Share Posted October 4, 2017 I forgot about those, I have just taken a look... they seem like they are big enough but don't really suit the style of tzeentch or human forces, they look quite alien. I was looking at the gryph-hounds but they are too smal and their avian characteristics I am not sure quit fit the avian tzeentch style, but its close and with a suitable paint scheme might fit? I think I will just have to try and get some Hounds of Xaphan as they are very plain and their lean muscular style fits in well with my kairic acolytes. Gryph-Hounds come in a pack of 6 for a low price... which is the max you can take n a squad, perfect! Hmm... they could work but are they too small and do they fit in well enough? Sandlemad Posted October 4, 2017 Share Posted October 4, 2017 Gryph hounds are bigger than they look and the avian style really is perfect for Tzeentch but yeah, they're quite a bit smaller than the old Hounds of Xaphan. They were horse-sized at least. If matching thei size is important to you, the WHFB demigryphs might be better. Unfortunately they're saddled and armoured but with the flames and pointy-noses the armour could certainly be made to look fairly Tzeentchian. The newer AoS gryph-chargers are cool but probably too big, around juggernaut-sized. If you're willing to go 3rd party, have you considered Puppetwars's daemon-hounds? They're about the right size, they're affordable, and they are visually very similar to the FW examples. They do look a bit Khorne-y at first glance but the right paintjob and maybe some greenstuff feathers/fins here and there could help.
