Lord Morgrim Posted October 10, 2017 Share Posted October 10, 2017 Ok Im a bit easily confused but the whole detachments thing can confound me. How do i take some big tank in an AM army? How does that effect the whole battle forged and use of strategiums etc? Just looking at starting in Mechanicus and want to consider all options. Magos_Adephus Posted October 10, 2017 Share Posted October 10, 2017 For any Imperial force you can take any unit from the different armies. For a Patrol detachment you could take a Company Commander and an Inquistor for HQs, and some Guardsmen, Skitarii, and Space Marines as troops (at least that my understanding). You can also use multiple detachments in your list, like an AdMech Spearhead and a Primaris Vanguard. So to get a Baneblade just take a Super-Heavy Auxillary detachment and boom, Baneblade. There's no restrictions or limitations in this instance. Just make sure that your AdMech detachment is AdMech only. If you take a unit from a different Imperial faction in your AdMech detachment the whole detachment loses the ability to use Canticles, which you'll absolutely need.
