Hey all. I finally gave enough painted to start using them in an escalation campaign

I have Celestine and 60 sisters. What's a good force org in 8th ?

I'm coming from playing harkequins as a main in the last campaign ( 2nd out of 22! :))

No. Celestines invo vuff only affects the Shield of Faith 6++ (makes it 5++) or those without it get 6++. So crusaders 3++ from stormshield is not upped to 2++.

You can easily comvert those rhinos to repressors. Definately worth the effort ;)

What special and heavy weaappons do you have in there? Any imagifiers. Footslogging sisters can be surprisingly fast these days.

Matt varnish your miniatures after you complete them: they won't chip AS much from gaming wear and tear.

And pin your miniatures. You'd be amazed how fragile metal miniatures can be with gaming wear and tear.

Varnish, pin, and use cases.

I didn't pin my pengines the first two times, and they broke constantly, destroying my paint jobs. I've now pinned them, and they haven't broken since (a year).

There's nothing wrong with the fact that our models are going to need more love, but a little prevention goes a long way.

I now use Loctite powerflex to glue my sister's together. My Penitent engines are almost indestructible now. The first one I glued fell off the table accidentally and bounced! No pinning required. Only drawback it's quite pricey, but worth it!

So we are starting out at 500 pts. I’m thinking canoness. 2 battle sister squads. 2 immokators snd a seraphim squad. That’s around 500 I think

Any thoughts on that ?

Oh canoness with plasma and power axe Seraphim with inferno

A friend sent me his take.

Fiddled quickly with sisters of battle last night for you dude . At 500 points I liked: HQ Cannoness w/ Combi-Melta and Chainsword, Troop: Sisters of Battle x 5, vanilla, Fast Attack: Dominion Squad x5 w/ 4 meltas and 1 combi-melta, Seraphim squad x 5 w/ 1 2x inferno pistol,Seraphim squad x 5 w/ 1 2x handflamer, Dedicated Transport: Immolator.

My biggest challenges with the Penitent Engines has been where you have ball sockets; where the legs meet the feet pads and where the upper body connects to the legs. Those keep separating despite being super glued or metal resin bonded. I've got a third Engine coming soon and hope I can find a better solution. It's no fun when your models selfdestruct right out of the transit case.

Take an eviscerator on your Cannoness. She's a melee wrecking ball, especially at small points levels. She has a solid chance of doing damage vs anything, and can always act of faith to chop even more.

Well I got tabled by iron hands and a crazy venerable dread, butt he game was close

He ended up with 2 hp and a tech marine ( I killed 2 x 7 tac marines)

I did forget a few things that may have made a difference though

1: forgot dominions scout move in the 2 immolators :(

2: forgot my warlord trait was feel no pain:(

3: Forgot that I had TWO seraphim with 2 inferno pistols, I was only rolling 2 attacks not 4 on my turn 1 attack on the dread :( :(

so all in all a learning experience, and I ditched my chessex dice, making 40 to hit rolls in 1 turn and getting 5 wounds was atrocious  hitting on 3s re rolling 1s, wounding on 4s  should have given me 13 or so , gah

PS: chainsword on canoness was a bad choice, next game, eviscerator all the way

thanks for the help

Don't be afraid to try a retributor squad at low point games either. Four heavy bolters / heavy flamers / multi-meltas with the capacity to shoot twice from acts of faith can be a big "stuff you" in small point games.

Agreed. That said, in small games I'm weirdly partial to Celestians with a priest and Cannoness. The Cannoness deals mad eviscerator wounds, the priest sings, and the celestians are armor 3+ and have 3 attacks, plus the superiors

It usually works out pretty well for me.
