Blightlords - Combi Weapon loadout?

What is the consensus on which ranged weapon option is the most effective on Blightlord Terminators? I was thinking 3x Combi Meltas (along with a flail and Blight Launcher) for anti tank/monster duty but I see most lists equip them with Combi Plasma. Combi Plasma seems dicey to me unless there's a Demon Prince or Chaos Lord nearby. My aim will be to deep strike them most games.

Thoughts?

Plasma is the obvious choice, as it provides the most synergy with Inexorable Advance - 18" rapid fire is nothing to laugh at, and largely mitigates the risk of your Blightlords being kited. It's only 'dicey' if you're overcharging, which you shouldn't be doing without a Lord/Prince anyway unless the reward outweighs the risk.

Flamers are too short range to be used when you deep strike, so those are out of contention. If you want a dedicated anti-vehicle unit, go with melta, but a savvy opponent will make it difficult for you to even get within 6", and they don't come cheap.

Melta can make some sense when using a delivery vehicle, as our infantry can also advance and fire assault weapons without penalty, so easier to get into half range. Blightlords aren't great carriers though - they're slow, and halve advance moves too. Deep strike will be out of half range.

Maybe if you also have an allied CSM caster for warp time to get them closer after deep striking, and you want to melta something before a charge?

I refused to dig for bits or buy multiple kits so I only took one combi-plasma and a blight launcher (and of course a flail).  If I was min-maxing though I'd also throw my lot in to all Combi-Plasma.

Man I just put whatever looked cool on their bolters.  It is obvious that they are combi-something and I will never run them as a mixed unit.  No way am I going to go thru the hassle of trying to find 4 tiny little plasma guns to put on the side of their bolters.  For the price we should have had those options in the box.

Is anyone running a Blight Launcher or Reaper Autocannon with their Blightlords?

I know this is a slight deviation from the Thread topic but I thought it still fits.  The way a lot of these posts are reading no one is bothering with them and just maxing out on Combi-weapons

I can see Blight launcher if you're doing a Plague weapon list with the warlord trait. A chaos lord with the helm can provide a nice force multiplier for Blight launcher spam, having these guys be anchors and able to rebuff assaults.

The reaper is terrible for 15. The rate of fire isn't high enough for the damage and Armour piercing.

Honestly? I just kitted out my squads with combi-bolters and a reaper autocannon. It's the most dakka for the lowest price. At 18" that's 20 shots and honestly that's been good enough for me to gut Space Marine squads or anything weaker.

Are blightlords working for you??? i find them really expensive

They work fine for me. But just to be clear: Blightlords aren't that strong for their points and they aren't the most competitive choice. But I love the models and if the aesthetics of a unit are pleasing to me I'll play them regardless of their strength (which is why I also gave them the Reaper Autocannon since I like its looks).

You kill 3ish marines on average. Not much of a gutting.

Well it's a bit more than half of the typical Marine unit. Which, since everybody likes to take units full of special weapons, is not that bad. Not extremely good but not bad either. Perfect for casual games I'd say.
