To the dismay of many, youll often find that the Imperial Army numbers, when present, for Crusade/Heresy Era battles/events are usually surprisingly small when one would expect a conflict happening over the course of a few decades and a few planetary systems only mentions 10 million or fewer mortal soldiers vs the 50+million mark one would have otherwise expected. its just a weird thing about the universe.
