A push

I'm on my way to join a small campaign in November, and I have decided to go with BA. My only Marine experience is with BT in the 5:th edition, so I'm a little rusty to say the least:biggrin.:, and BA have some troop choices that I never used on the tabletop before. I would appreciate it if someone could push me in the right direction. I have a few Bolter Marines ,LR,Rhinos and an unopened box with DC. I have no idea what kind of HQ to bring and what kind of units that would provide a good support.

I think you'll find these threads helpful for your Troop questions:

To Troop or not to Troop -> http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340100-to-troop-or-not-to-troop/

Tactical Spam: Could it work? -> http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340040-tactical-spam-could-it-work/

tl;dr Scouts are our best Troop choice

For your DC I would recommend keeping them cheap and effective. This means utilising their pretty unique ability to equip both Chainswords and Boltguns, set up like this you probably want at least 10 in a squad to really kick out some hurt. It's really easy to get carried away by all their special weapon options but they are pretty squishy so you don't want them to be too expensive. This way they are still very scary, versatile and cheap(ish). Either in a rhino or with jump packs.

This leads me on to HQ, Lemartes works particularly well with the above combo. He's one of our Cheaper Characters and he is pretty beasty himself. The Sanguinary Priest also works well with all our melee options due to that +1 strength and he can also take a jump pack to deep strike with your other Combatants. Other notable characters are Mephiston and The Sanguinor, both pretty scary opponents. One key piece of advice is to not get into the mind set of trying to make a 'Bubble of Death' trying to overlap auras from our characters etc. 2-3 in  a list is more than enough before you start eating up too many points and not having enough bodies.

I'd also look into Company Veterans for Blood Angels due to their unique ability to take Jump Packs which means you can drop large amounts of Melta/Plasma fire in melta/rapid fire range with a Captain/Lieutenant etc. You then have a very nice mobile shooting platform to harrass your enemies too.

That all said, things that work for Space Marines also work for us. Like Razorbacks for example are a great unit for us too right now. Captains and Lieutenants are great HQ choices to add to any list. I'm sure there is stuff I've missed out or forgotten but this should give you something to work from
