Which miniatures do you use for Wolf Priests?

You can usually pick up the old metal Wolf Priest models for £6 or £7 on eBay, with the Gamesday exclusive one being closer to £25.

If you need something more readily available (i.e. currently available direct from GW or FLGS), then your closest bets would be to use the Ulrik the Slayer model (he is a Wolf Priest, after all) or to user some Space Wolf bits to customise a normal Space Marine Chaplain.

Or just a regular Marine model. I use a 'kitbash' which is just a stock plastic SW, with armour painted black and the wolf style helmet painted bone, plus a fancy FW sword from my bits box (I built him in 5th edition, back before power weapons split into multiple profiles).

I love the Ulrik character just think his pose is a little boring and want him wearing that helmet not carrying it.

I’ve got a really good kitbashed wolf skull helmet made up, it’s just too big. Will have to see how it looks on a terminator, but then that rules out playing him as Ulrik anyway.

So I plan converting the Blood Angels Junp Pack Chaplin to go with my Jump Pack wolf Guard converted from Raptors./Warp Talons

Kit bashed the captain from the starter set with a load of wolfy bits and green stuff pelt on tbe cape.

i am getting the resin GW figures.  not sure if i can change out the bits and i am not skilled enough to be cutting and gluing pieces together.

NKWulf, they are usually black with a wolf skull helmet.

thanks.

I currently have a wolf priest on my list to make as well however wanted to make it look different from Ulrich,  I have gone for the death-watch Chaplin model  and use the wolf upgrade pack head with a wolfy gun and shoulders to make it look a bit in keeping with my other stuff.

The Dark Angel Interrogator Chaplain is a very good prospect for conversion. Just replace the legs with Grey Hunter legs, add wolf skull to the crozius, use a wolf helm from either the Update Sprues or Grey Hunter sprues, and add a left plasma pistol and presto! Decent Ulrik model or any other Wolf Priest model. To cover the chest iconography, shave them off and put some of the Wolf Guard terminator cruxes.

So, in other words... remove anything distinctive and add everything that's needed? :biggrin.:

"Exactly like the old model, only different in every way."

Pretty much what Space Wolves have to do for everyone of our models, from Devastators to Long Fangs, to our Wolf Lords, Battle Leaders and Iron Priests (at least until Curse of the Wulfen update happened)

legs your choice ,chest I like the one with wolf skull (but up to you all) chest back the wolf pelt one

head the wolf helm or bare head of gnarly choice

arms-I use bolt pistol the crozius you have choice of two arms first the thunder hammer with head cut off
