I wonder that since Daemons don't have chapter/ regiment equilavants will they get extra rules for running a mono god force

I have a feeling Brinstone smite spam will be nerfed to oblivion

I hope they invent something like daemon circles and their army rules. Just running mono-god detachements to get these boni would be very limiting.

Same with DG and GK, they do not have any sort of Chapter Tactics equivalent.

 

Regarding new models: I think it is not unlikely. This year we had only Primaris Marines and DG. No new Imps, Eldar, Tyras, propably no new Dark or Blood Angels I guess, since they have solid models or can use the generic Marine ones. This means there is a long period of time without any new model releases for 40k. So why not bring the missing 2 greater Daemons, Nurgle Beast, Slaanesh Fiends, Gargoyles or whatsoever.

Yeah, as will Daemons if you stick to the Daemon faction keyword msn-wink.gif

Of course you get rules when sticking to one faction, but not like CSM Legions, SM Chapters or AM Forgeworld etc. where you can choose from. At least that is my guess. It just would make no sense to me to leave GK and DG without those options and then invent something completely new for Deamons.

 

Maybe we just get the Demonic Incursion (?) rule they got at the end of 7th which lets you hold objectives even when moving away... or maybe we see something new.

I've been thinking about this for a while. I wonder if they'll handle "Legion" traits as the armies of specific greater demons, rather than being necessarily mono-god. They may often benefit one type of god over another, but still allow freedom in list construction. Plus, it'd allow you to comfortably have more than just the 4-5 "Legion" traits you'd get out you just stuck with mono-god and one mixed.

For example, Skarbrand's Legion might get a bonus when they charge, but you could easily take Nurgle or Tzeentch daemons as kind of indentured servants. Be'lakor's Legion might get a bonus to falling back, etc.

Good to see BA and DA getting their books too - hopefully they're done justice. Same goes for Daemons naturally, I hope the god rules get a bit of tweaking to cover for the fact you don't get chapters or regiments of daemons (unless we get a big retcon tongue.png ). Looks like my Chaos hobby plans for this year have been set msn-wink.gif

I suppose universal invulnerable saves and the ability to be summoned could qualify as special snowflake rules, but I hope they go beyond that. Or if not, I hope summoning is reworked in some way that's both worthwhile and not overpowered. We also have the daemon of x pantheon-specific rules already, so I dunno. Maybe universal deep strike will also make a return. The idea that daemons have already materialized across the field from the opponent like a traditional mortal army is a bit boring to me. I like the idea of a chaotic (hehe) battlefield with random apparitions in addition to units on the field. Time will tell, I s'pose.

It would also be an indirect buff for Word Bearers I guess. ^^

 

Universal deep strike is definitely a possibility when I look at Greyknights and Genestealer Cult, and other armies have the potential to let their whole (or rather half) army deep strike as well.

If the Detachment Battlrforged rule was sometbing to akin to 4th Ed Daemon Deep Strike Rule and all “Daemon” Detachment gains (Themed Deep Strike Keyword) and all units in that Detachment are ignored for determine but half of unit deployed via (themed deep strike Keyword) are instead of being deployed at end of a movement phase, but deployed after both players finish their deployment but before T1 player is determined.

What do you expect/hope for the Codex?

 

I expect:

- Full Psi-Disciplines, one per god

- Cost reduction for the daemons not already reworked (Troops and Nurgle daemons, except characters) 

- Especially for things like the Soul Grinder point reduction and a rework simnilar to the Leman Russ (no penalty for moving)

- Relics (Obvious)

- Warlord Traits (Obvious)

- Stratagems (Obvious)

- A summoning stratagem similar to what WB or DG get

 

I hope for:

- A Warpstorm list. I really liked the added randomness from the 7th (?)

- Some kind of subfactions (Daemon circles) because division by god would be so limiting and faction traits for them

- About Relics: I hope some really weird ones that need some thought to be useful

- Same for Warlord Traits

- Some stratagems that support the them of "you never know what will happen if fighting daemons" I really like the Icon effect

- Remove and refill-Stratagem like chaos gets for renegades but for troop daemons

   Personally, I hope that they bring back as options the lesser, greater and exalted weapons that you could get if you "rolled" a "0" on the respective awards tables... yes, I am a bit selfish in that I have converted several Diaz daemonette models (both foot and riding Steeds of Slaanesh) to have ether swords and Lashes of Slaanesh that I would still like to use as such.

The Leman Russ ability is to fire twice if moving half of his mouvement no ?

The Defiler didnt get this rules, so while the Soul Grinder should have it ? 

 

I hope ALL the tank would have the capacity to shoot twice if moving slowy. As far as i love infantry squad, i love a great tank too. V7 wasnt kind with our armored friends (with the famous One shot on a 6), V8 is better but still.. A Havoc squad shouldn't get as much dakka as a predator imho. 

 

But I wanted Daemonic machin spirit for all our Daemonforge units (it was all but logical), i'm still wainting sad.png

 

What i hope : 

 

- Stratagem that can be used on Slaanesh/Nurgle/Khorn/Tzeench Daemon unit. With this, you can play Daemonkind with one detachment CSM and one detachment daemon and use daemon stratagem on possessed for example (yea like the Death Guard FAQ).

Imagine a stratagem like "X CP for a Slaanesh Daemon units to advance AND charge", fluff, and on Slaanesh possessed it would be so good..

 

- Eldar have some good "mind:cuss" stratagem (phantasm for exemple) that would be perfect on a Tzeencht army. 

 

- Rework the summoning ability. Right now it's overpowered in open play, and too restrictive in matched play. Summoning should have a limitation (a % of your army PL for eg) in open play, and take off the "dont move before summoning" restriction so we can have an erzat of daemon deepstriking. 

 

- "God trait" if you are playing a monotheïste detachment (multiples trait for a single god to choose would be awesome). 

 

- A stratagem to use if a ennemy psyker die to possess him as his mental defence break as he die and remplace him with a Daemon (with some splash damage to the unit nearby as his body explose...). I mean, Tyranids are a real threat to psyker (wich is fluff and good), so should daemon.

 

- I want a stratagem for Slaanesh daemon to use on Eldar (just as Eldar have a stratagem to use on Slaanesh daemon). 

 

- I don't get why Chaos spawn and raptor have a "Fear" capacity for -1 to moral test... But not Warp talon, Possessed, Daemon Prince (censored.gif ?), GUO/KoS etc... Can we have the comeback of the fear capacity on "Daemon" keyworld now that moral is a real thing ?

I looked down the sights of my rifle, my target looked back. It's eyes were all the eyes I'd ever loved. They promised everything I could ever want. Love, comfort, safety. An end to this nightmare. I felt my will draining out of me, entranced by those eyes.

Nope nope nope, not for me.

 

I dont want CSM vehicles and tanks and I don't want Stratagems to build up a "Semi- Daemonkin" force.

I want Daemons msn-wink.gif

 

Since I only play Slaanesh and just started recently to build up some Nurgle force my experience is very limited, but what I want:

 

- Of course Stratagems, WLTs, Relics etc.

- A little more randomness like the Warpstorm Table. I think it was pretty fun.

- Better Summoning

- Rework the Soulgrinder ! For its costs it should be way better I think.

- More options than just Banner and Insturment for our units, at least for the units champion.

- Make the GUO a little tougher maybe? Never played him, but on paper he seems to be less durable than Greater Daemons of Khorne and Tzeentch. When it comes to taking punches Nurgle should be on the very top !

- Price decrease for some units (seekers come to my mind first).

- New models for KoS, GUO, Fiend of Slaanesh and Beast of Nurgle. The latest Beast of Nurgle artwork looks so cool, give it to me in plastik please.

- Maybe rules for the Nurgle Daemon riding the snail in AoS, I like the model.

- Some sort of benefit for mono god armys, but I guess this will be a tough one. Mono god is pretty restricted, so the benefit must be either pretty huge or might not be worth it at all.

 

That is my little wishlist.

As a Tzeentch demon player, I very strongly believe Horrors will get some kind of rebalanced to favor pinks and eliminate brimstone shenanigans. I also think all heralds will get unique auras rather than the strength buff.

As for hopes, I have my fingers crossed that they buff/balance Lords of Change/Kairos, as well as Screamers who I don't think are functioning the way they hoped. And as others have said, some change to make summoning better. Right now its cons outweigh its pros.
The man who has nothing can still have faith.
