dont really want to start a new thread on it as its just another silly question

but when a chapter is created where does it come from? i mean like where does it set off from, mars, terra? im a bit confused

I am up really late. To answer your question, the High Lords look at a map and say "We need more defenses/Astartes here... what kind of enemies are we expecting in that region?" Then based on what enemies are there and the surplus of what specific geneseed they have, a chapter is born! For example, a Imperial Fists chapter assigned to a region of space with a orbiting space station monastery. They specializes in killing Necrons because a lot are popping up there, so they have weapons and armor suited for that. For your Chapter just think of what you want them to specialize in and base the backstory around that. Or don't, this is just advice after all.

thanks for the reply, but i think you misunderstood my question...im literally asking WHERE does the chapter start their journey...do they set off from terra, do they set off from mars or another part of space?

i cant really word that question so great XD

I think it depends: the chapter's geneseed and most of its equipment will most likely be created on Mars, but a chapter with a homeworld could be formed directly there, where the first batch of recruits will be found; or for a fleet based chapter they could set out from Mars, or terra, or even any of the major stellar ports of the galaxy (Saturne, Hydraphur or Cypra Mundi for example)

However, there is a real dirth of information about the founding of chapters apart from the second and ultima, which are rather unusual, so we can't give you any definitive answers. I hope that can still help though?

I'm late to the game, but here goes:

1. Tailor your name to your Chapter's mission. In this case, you're talking about "reclaiming sectors of space." That doesn't sound like a defensive mission. Given this, are "sentinel" or "shield" thematically apropos?

2. Again, given the Chapter's mission it doesn't sound like it would be undertaken from a fixed position. You might want to consider whether they would be a Crusading Chapter, and if their Fortress Monastery might be something based on a Ramilies-class Star Fortress, or a great barque (see Lamenters), or a great battle-barge (see Blood Ravens), or something similar.

3. Where the creation of a Chapter goes, as others said, the process starts with the High Lords of Terra declaring the need for one. Sometimes that's part of a Founding; other times, it's a more isolated event. Next, an unspecified group within the Adeptus Terra would determine what gene-seed will be used. In at least one case, the Supreme Grand Master of the Dark Angels used his influence to secure the creation of a Successor Chapter when he wished it. Once the provenance is determined, the "parent Chapter" would appear to provide a cadre of officers and Veterans to form the core of the Successor Chapter (it's not clear if this is always the case, though). The Adeptus Mechanicus are responsible for much of the rest. While the "parent Chapter" may provide certain relics or even warships, the Mechanicum are responsible for providing a fleet, an Armorium, a Fortress Monastery, etc. The short story "The Aegidan Oath" indicates that decades went into preparing for the Third Founding took decades. It would likely take years just for the Adeptus Terra's bureaucracy to get moving, and still more years for 10-12 Neophytes to be made into proper Space Marines. If battle-barges, strike cruisers, escort ships, etc., were all needed, it might take a decade or two before the new Chapter is fully operational.
