Greetings Brothers.

So I've been working on my Crusade for a long time now and i thought it was about time i shared some of the results with my fellow crusading brothers. I've been lurking on this forum for ages now but have never had the confidence to post my work i haven't really came up with a back ground for them unfortunately but i hope you guys like what I've done so far  this isn't all of my Crusade i have about 5000 points or more in different stages of being painted and about another 10000 or so not built.

my army so far:

about 4 Emperors Champions

Chaplain Grimaldus

High Marshall Helbrecht

3 Marshalls

3 Chaplains

4 Castilians/Lieutenants

1 tech marine

1 set of Command tanks

6 venerable dreadnoughts

3 ironclad dreadnoughts

2 sword brethren with jumpacks/vanguard veteran squads

4 contemptor dreadnoughts

12 Crusader squads 6 stabby 6 shooty (20 shooty neophytes)

2 assault squads

2 devastator squads

sadly only 1 land raider crusader

1 las plas predator ( the forge world one but not actually )

2 drop pods

2 rhinos

i will aim to keep this up to date as regularly as i can with WiP photos and finished projects i hope you guys will help keep me motivated.

The list seems impressive. How well are you doing in games?

Not so much a list, more of an itinerary of everything i own. i usually run a list composed of the three characters 3-4 Crusader Squads both Vanguard Squads a few dreads my Land Raider and the Pred with a few extras here and there i have only had three games this edition and won all of them two vs Thousand Sons and one vs Blood Ravens all 2000points or over.

Looking good. Welcome to the fold. Let your ZEAL a beacon of doom to the enemies of our glorious Imperium.

Thank you Brother, No Pity! No Remorse! No Fear! Only ZEAL!

The models look great! I question the practicality of weighing down Jump Infantry with combat shields, instead of giving them pistols so they can suppress fire from enemies too cowardly to face the Templars in close combat, i.e., infantry armed with flakk missile launchers, and other air defenses.  Thanks man I'm glad someone other than me likes my style  I gave them storm shields for the 3+ invulnerable seems as vanguard vets cost a bit too many points for a model with only one wound i know it makes them more expensive but they stand a better chance of surviving against flakk and air defenses thanks to it plus it looks cool :biggrin.: also i tend to deep strike them down so it helps against over watch when they charge.

Just a little update, I've been working on two squads recently a CC 9 initiate 1 Sword Brother Crusader Squad and a 9 initiate 1 Sword Brother Assault Squad that i thought id share with you guys :happy.:

these are both still WIP so please excuse that some of them are further along than others in the Squad and they look a little messy atm. unfortunately one of the Assault Squad guys came off his base so he isn't pictured. If there is anything you guys think i could do to improve anything i'm doing please speak up i'd love to hear any feed back you guys can offer

Also i picked these guys up today from my local GW can't wait to add them to the Crusade think the Captain needs a little work to look like a decent Marshal though as he looks a little too ultra marineish....

Also if there is anything i need to change about this whole post let me know as i've never made a forum post like this before.

Recently I've been digging around in my bits box because i got the urge to build something, i came across one of the forge world limited models that they sold only in gw stores for like a weekend or something silly. originally he was the Ultra marine herald or banner barer but i liked the Armour and thought it would be a good fit for a tech-marine with full   servo-harness, im not sure if it looks too big on him or not? i was tempted to use the servo-harness from a Thunderfire cannon guy as its a bit more compact but i currently don't own one.. what do you guys think of this on him so far does it look too spread out or too big for the model?

Really excellent models and paintjobs, and some really badass conversions in there too. Great stuff brother.

Thank you brother I am very proud of my work but its always a good thing to hear a fellow Templar give praise :happy.: Just out of curiosity is there any of the conversions I have done you particularly enjoy?

Awesome models, they successfully stand the test of a photo camera lens and I imagine they look even greater 'in person'. I think that you handle details in red and white very well, since they not only fit well into the established BT colour schemes, but also add 'vibrancy' (or variety) to the miniatures. The added Maltese crosses here and there are a nice tough too, I particularly like the one on the combat shield (post #9).

Regarding the servo harness, it fits just fine.

My personal favorites are the Emperor's Champion unsheathing his sword, and the lancer bike Marshal.

Thank you for the kind words Brother :happy.: i spent a long time looking at old artwork from the 4th ed codex and other sources and seeing a big difference in how the art looked from the painted models in them and based my stuff of the artwork. I find that adding the Maltese crosses in places breaks up the black nicely and adds just the right amount of character to stop them looking like normal marines in black, i am rather fond of the combat shield one myself but thank you brother there are a few other things similar to it which are further down my wip list so i hope you will enjoy them too :biggrin.:

as for the servo harness it's starting to grow on me im just trying to think about his arm poses and if they will fit now

My personal favorites are the Emperor's Champion unsheathing his sword, and the lancer bike Marshal.

thank you for letting me know  the EC is one of the first models i converted that is why hes a bit more simple then some of the others and the biker Marshal is one of my favorites too there is a lot of things on him that people probably wont notice like for instance his chest is made from two different kits i know you can't see it on the photo though.

i've got a whole bike command squad to go with him and the Chaplain they are still wip at the moment though and i even made a EC on bike so i hope you'd like to see them at some point  :happy.:

The servo-harness arms are fine- you need to make room for the Techmarine's flesh-and-blood arms, anyway.

thanks man yeah im currently trying to get the arms to fit and deciding what weapons i want to give him might go for a combi melta as they are pretty good this edition

I've been busy over the holidays but finally got some time to add more to the crusade. So i thought id share just a few of the new additions I've been working on.

Terminator Chaplain

http://u.cubeupload.com/DarkCrusader/DSC02696.jpg

Castilian and Chaplain

http://u.cubeupload.com/DarkCrusader/DSC02694.jpg

Primaris Chaplain

http://u.cubeupload.com/DarkCrusader/DSC02697.jpg

I've had a really big urge to add more Chaplains as you can probably tell i like the Primaris one but not really sure if i should use him or not.

Apothecary

http://u.cubeupload.com/DarkCrusader/DSC02695.jpg

Vanguard vets/Company veterans not completely happy with the guy in the middle though what do you think?

http://u.cubeupload.com/DarkCrusader/DSC02692.jpg

Primaris Castilian (illegal load out for Templars though just wanted to make a cool model :happy.:)

http://u.cubeupload.com/DarkCrusader/DSC02698.jpg

Primaris Dreadnought :happy.:

http://u.cubeupload.com/DarkCrusader/DSC02693.jpg

so what do you think brothers? i just need to get painting them now :biggrin.:

Love what you've done with them. Might have to consider that chaplain terminator after all. Only thing i'd maybe consider changing is shortening the Crozius on the primaris chaplain. Maybe replace the original head completely. Otherwise i just am overcome with a great desire to paint these, which is what bare plastics should be doing :p

I like them.

For the one you are not happy with, I think re-positioning the arms should help the look flow better.

Thank you man  i have messed about with the arms a bit but the left arm is a bit difficult because of the cloak so i might leave it for now as its starting to grow on me.

Your models look promising. I hope to see them painted soon.

Thank you :happy.:  I'm working on it man pics soonish

I absolutley love what you've done with the Redemptor Dreadnought - the split cross on the carapace is an excellent piece of Templar bling, might I suggest taking the split skull off, it would make the profile of the cross more distinct.

Thank you very much Brother i'm really happy with how it came out i did think about taking the skull off but its the cross from the land raider doors and the plastic is really soft so i'm worried about ruining it completely the profile looks so much better now that there is some paint on it now.

Thanks brother :happy.: i would definitely recommend getting the Terminator Chaplain he's a lovely model to paint :biggrin.:  it looks a lot longer on the photo than it actually is i think in person, and i have changed the head the original one had the hood on i used one of the Dark Angel chaplain heads not sure which one though. yeah man i was so happy with the way they ended up looking i'm enjoying painting them so far :happy.:

Loving what you have here. The different armour types and kit bashing is fantastic, also your dedication to painting so many with crosses on the helmet face has made me contemplate doing the same on some of mine. Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks so much man yeah i like having the armour verity myself its makes painting so many infantry at a time more interesting plus i like trying to make each guy a little unique so the kitbashing helps plus i just love mixing kits. do it man you can never have too many crosses on your guys

quick question for you guys i recently got to a point i could consider the red on the cloaks finished on the Chaplains and Sword Bretheren what do you think do they look alright or did i go a little too bright with the highlights? do you think i should darken the recesses a little?
