Have you thought about using a siege Breaker Consul to open up the use of phosphex on the quad guns?

I might be tempted to run 2 contemptor Morris with dual kheres instead of those two contemptors as they can gain skyfire if they stay still.

Please bear in mind I'm also new to 30k and this is the list I'm thinking of running but need advice.

Typhon - the reaping (rate of war)

Bodyguard - deathshroud X4 in proteus (40k variant)

Siege Breaker Consul - cataphractti armour combi flamer, thunder hammer

Tactical squad - rhino, vexila, nuncio vox

Tactical squad - rhino, vexila, nuncio voX

Heavy weapons squad X5 missile

Heavy weapons squad X5 missile

Contemptor Morris - X2 kheres

Quad motar - phosphex

Scorpius

Sicaran - las sponsons

Vectorum you have 4 Heavy Support choices in your first list (and you can only take 3 in Age of Darkness Force Org). Before you ask, you cannot run a Rite of War in alternate Force Orgs (like Onslaught, which does have 4 Heavy Support slots). Easy fix though, as the Terminators can take the Spartan as a Dedicated Transport.

Speaking of Terminators... “Pride of the Legion” requires you to fill your Compulsory Troops choices with Veterans or Terminators - you have only 1 squad of these.

If you want to take a Leviathan in “The Reaping”, give it the torso-mounted twin-linked volkite calivers so it can do some shooting while it slowly crosses the board.

Finally, why multi-meltas in the Heavy Support Squad? Not easy to use without penalty, and there’s a lot of Armoured Ceramite in 30k...

Thnx for the feedback! I'm new to 30k, so just trying stuff out. Thought multi-melta's would be good for anti-tank, but I see missile launchers are recommended a lot. Or would you go with something else? Changed the list a bit(choose The Reaping to move the HS squad to a troop choice, the list is legal now right?) based on your feedback.

That looks better mate! Couple of suggestions for you though...

Your Praetor is running Cataphractii armour with a squad of Tartaros Deathshroud. Probably worth taking Tartaros armour and (discounted) iron halo on him so he doesn’t hold them up. And he definitely needs a Paragon blade - it’s one of the reasons you field Praetors!

Your Tacticals are pretty bare-bones. I’d give the Sergeants artificer armour at least, and consider additional combat blades for all squad members. If you get them, give the Sergeant a decent combat weapon too (Deathshroud power scythe or power fist).

Apothecaries love artificer armour. It keeps them alive, and they keep squads alive.

Heavy Support Squads are interesting - the weapon you take is very much dependant on the rest of your list:

- Heavy bolters are rarely used. I’d only take them in Dark Angels lists with their moelcular acid shells.

- Heavy flamers are free, and only worth it in Death Guard and Salamanders armies, but you rarely see them. Could be interesting with Promethium Relay Pipes.

- Krak missiles are an anti-Marine weapon in a game that excels at killing Marines (and they get no bonuses to Vehicle Damage rolls) but they do cause Instant Death on 2-wound Terminators. Frag missiles help with Militia armies. Flakk missiles are too expensive for what they do.

- For the same price, you can get autocannons, which are probably better at killing light armour (2x shots, only AP4). My personal favourite - cheap, effective and underrated.

- Lascannons are pricey, so you need to justify that expense. Best to have a Bunker to hide all those points in.

- Not keen on plasma cannons myself.

- Volkite culverins are awesome for anti-Infantry, especially if you face Militia armies. Choom will always pay dividends! :)

Finally, a Spartan is probably more than you need, and a Land Raider Phobos will save you points. Probably won’t be able to fit in all of the above options, but hopefully it gives you a guide.
